The Vegas Lines
Highest Scoring Games
Pelicans vs. Suns – On a huge slate this game comes in at the highest o/u. With a 212 total this game should provide a lot of fantasy action. The Brow looks like he is finally back to his regular self and has a good matchup. Brandon Knight disappointed us last game with Bledsoe sitting, but can right the ship tonight with one of the best matchups in the league.
Nets vs. Thunder – This game sneaks in right below the Suns game. With a 211.5 o/u this one should also provide fantasy goodness. KD is coming back off of injury which lowers Westy’s usage. On the Nets side of things Jarrett Jack, Old Joe Johnson, and BroLo should lead the charge.
Lowest Scoring Games
Heat vs. Pistons- On a night that includes a Jazz game, it is very surprising that they aren’t one of the lowest scoring teams. This honor goes to the Pistons tonight. With an o/u of 188, this game should be interesting. The battle between Whiteside and Drummond should be great if Whiteside suits up. As for the other scoring, it should be dispersed between a lot of guys.
Pace of Play
Fastest Projected Games
Wizards vs. Hornets – I love the fact that my Hornets once again make the fastest projected list. With a projected pace of 100.5, the Hornets are only second to the Suns tonight (and we all know the Sun are smoking). It has to be bad when one of my favorite Draftkings plays is the Hornets stack.
Slowest Projected Games
Jazz vs. Clippers – There they are, the Jazz finally make the list. With a projected game pace of 97.2 this is the 3rd slowest game of the night. The Clippers usually like to push the pace, but the Jazz are a defensive team. I like Favors and Gobert tonight for the Jazz. I also look for CP3 to come out firing tonight for the Clippers.
Defense vs. Position
Best PG Matchups
Brandon Knight vs. Jrue Holiday – Yes, we are unhappy with your last performance Brandon. However, tonight the matchup is to good to pass up. The Pelicans are 29th against opposing PGs and BK has had it his way for most of the year.
Worst PG Matchups
Reggie Jackson vs. Goran Dragic – Reggie is usually one of the main scorers for the Pistons. The Heat are 2nd against opposing PGs with the help of Goran Dragic’s lockdown defense. Reggie only posted 19 fantasy points during his last outing.
Best SG Matchups
Khris Middleton vs. Marco Belinelli and Crew – The Kings are ranked 29th against SGs. Middleton has had a slow start to the season, but is finally turning it around with a 28 fantasy performance last game.
Worst SG Matchups
Wes Matthews vs. Danny Green – I am a huge fan of Wes Matthews and truly think he is the iron man of the NBA. However, even with his minutes uptick he gets a battle versus the Spurs tonight. Green and company are ranked 1st against SGs. I like Deron Williams a lot more in this one.
Best SF Matchups
Jae Crowder vs. Robert Covington – I honestly feel like the 76ers couldn’t guard me. They really struggle against SFs. Crowder has been on the back burner because of Avery Bradley’s newfound offense. Crowder has the potential to light an offensive fire tonight.
Worst SF Matchups
Chandler Parsons vs. Kawhi Leonard – Leonard is the best defensive player in the league. Yeah I said it, Parsons is on a minutes limit and had a tough outing last night. This matchup really scares me.
Best PF Matchups
Nene Hilario vs. Marvin Williams – Nene fought through injury last night to hit value. Tonight he gets my Hornets, who couldn’t guard a PF if they tried. He should get around 20 minutes tonight and has a great opportunity to hit value.
Worst PF Matchups
Blake Griffin vs. Derrick Favors – I know, can Favors really shut down Blake. On paper the answer is definitely yes. Like I have said before Favors is the best defensive PF in the league. Grif will have his hands full tonight.
Best C Matchups
Jared Sullinger vs. Jahlil Okafor – Jared let us down last night, but that was because of the Avery Bradley show. The matchup is a lot better tonight and Sully will look to improve on his 16 point performance last night.
Worst C Matchups
Zaza Pachulia vs. Tim Duncan – Zaza had a double double last night, but draws another tough start. Duncan is ancient, but the guy is a basketball miracle. Tim plays great defense and will try to give Zaza some schooling tonight.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Anthony Davis ($10,800) – If you need proof the Brow is back look no further than his 69 fantasy point performance the last game. He gets a great matchup against the high scoring Suns tonight and will try to replicate his last outing. He has a great chance to hit value tonight.
Save Big Bucks By Drafting
Robert Covington ($4,800) – Two back to back 30+ fantasy point performances and no minutes restriction. I am back in on Bob Cov and I love his matchup against the Celtics. Look for him to shoot for 35+ tonight.
Dud of the Night
John Wall ($8,300) – Wall gets a nice matchup against my Hornets tonight, but he has been very unimpressive. With back to back games under 30 fantasy points and missing value in his last 5 games, Wall has gone cold. I need him to prove to me he still has it before I feel comfortable rolling him out again.
