Recap – Paul George, Russell Westbrook, annnnndddd James Harden! That is all.

The Vegas Lines

Highest Scoring Games

Warriors vs. Clippers – I love when these two teams play and on a short slate there should be a lot of fantasy goodness from this one. With an o/u of 213, this is the highest total on the night. CP3 is doubtful, which means we should see a lot of Jamal Crawford. I love Steph and Blake in this one.

Lowest Scoring Games

Bucks vs. Cavaliers – The Bucks and the Cavs are prototypical Eastern Conference teams. They both have a slower pace and are more calculated than the pace/space teams of the West. With an o/u of 194, they are definitely the lowest points total of the night. It will be interesting to see Jason Kidd’s starting line (Bayless anyone?) For the Cavs, we can look to LBJ and K Love for the offense.

Pace of Play

Fastest Projected Games

Kings vs. Heat – The Kings are the fastest paced team on the night at a 103.3. The Heat are one of the slower teams and run a lot of their offense through Whiteside/Bosh. This one has a decent point total and should turn into a track match led by the King’s ball handlers. Make sure you check on Boogie Cousins status due to possible discipline from the league.

Slowest Projected Games

Bucks vs. Cavs – Lowest point total on the night and the two slowest paced teams. Nothing to see here, moving on.

Defense vs. Position

Best PG Matchups

Goran Dragic vs. Rajon Rondo – Dragic got it going the other night with 33 fantasy points. He will get a decent matchup against a Kings team that hasn’t been good against opposing PGs. On a short slate it will be hard not to try at least a couple of punts.

Worst PG Matchups

Mo Williams vs. Michael Carter-Williams – MCW has had a couple of bad games back to back. Tonight he gets a matchup with Old Man Mo, who has been surprisingly good defensively (may need to credit Delly for this). MCW needs to prove a lot to me before I roster him.

Best SG Matchups

Klay Thompson vs. Jamal Crawford- The Clippers are ranked 28th in the league against opposing SGs. Klay can get hot at anytime and he should have a great opportunity to get hot tonight.

Worst SG Matchups

Dwyane Wade vs. Collison/Belinelli – There is something about these old guys and defense. D Wade is ranked 2nd in the league against opposing SGs (also may need to credit Winslow). Collison is coming off of injury and Belinelli isn’t an elite player. This looks like one of the worst matchups on the night.

Best SF Matchups

LeBron James vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo – LBJ versus anybody, doesn’t matter, pure domination. On a short slate he is about a necessity.

Worst SF Matchups%

Paul Pierce vs. Harrison Barnes/Andre Iguodala The Warriors duo of Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala have been phenomenal. They are both great defenders and have even put up some nice fantasy point totals. Pierce should get the start tonight and will be looked at to add offense. Unfortunately, this will be a tall order against the dynamic small forward duo of the Warriors.

Best PF Matchups

Chris Bosh vs. The King’s PF – The King’s played small ball last night, with Rudy Gay helping to man the 4. However, no matter how they play it tonight Bosh should be able to do work. He sets up in a great spot tonight.

Worst PF Matchups

Jabari Parker vs. Kevin Love – Love is ranked 5th in the league when it comes to defending opposing PFs. Parker is coming off of injury, so we still may see a nice minutes restriction. I would rather have K Love in this matchup.

Best C Matchups

Hassan Whiteside vs. DeMarcus Cousins – Boogie is an elite scorer, but nobody said anything about defense. Hassan just registered a triple-double and will try to continue his dominance tonight. This matchup really comes down to a coin toss, but I like Whiteside.

Worst C Matchups

Greg Monroe vs. Timofey Mozgov – Just like the PF spot, the Cavs have been great against the post position. Mozgov hasn’t played big minutes, but he will try to give Monroe all he can handle when he is in the game.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

LeBron James ($10,100) – The King doesn’t forget when you beat him in double overtime (here’s looking at you Bucks). LBJ is projected as the highest fantasy scorer on the night and should have a great opportunity to fulfill this projection.

Save Big Bucks By Drafting

Jamal Crawford ($4,600) – With CP3 sidelined the guard scoring has to come from somewhere. Crawford has the ability to get hot on any given night. He will have the minutes and the usage to potentially reach value tonight in a high scoring game.

Dud of the Night

Rajon Rondo ($8,700) – Calling Rondo back to earth….Rajon has finally come back down after his triple-doubles and string of great performances. With Collison back, sharing some of the load, Rondo doesn’t have to do as much. This Kings team has to feed the masses now, between Boogie, Gay, Rondo, and Collison that’s a lot of mouths.
