The Vegas Lines

Highest Scoring Games

Nuggets vs. Pelicans – This game has an o/u of 207.5. Both teams like to play fast and struggle in the interior. Anthony Davis is almost a 100% exposure play today, as he gets a terrible Nuggets frontcourt. This one should produce a lot of fantasy goodness.

Raptors vs. Warriors – In the City by the Bay (Isn’t that Oakland) buckets rain down. Lowry and company will try to slow down Chef Curry, but unfortunately I doubt they have the firepower. The o/u for this one is tied for the top at 207.5.

Lowest Scoring Games

Cavaliers vs. Pistons – One of the most hostile regular season games I watched last year was this one. LBJ and company got down early. It became really heated in Detroit when the King started putting on a show. With an o/u of 193.5 I am looking for the top usage guys tonight; LBJ, K Love, Drummond, and Reggie Jackson.

Hornets vs. Knicks – Steve Clifford still hasn’t figured out that his guys can run. Because of this the Hornets have the 2nd lowest total of the night. With an o/u of 196, we will witness the return of Linsanity to the big apple. However, for the Hornets we may want to change that to Batumsanity.

Pace of Play

Fastest Projected Games

Bucks vs. Wizards – The fastest paced game of the night is led by the floor general John Wall. The Wizards have a pace rating of 104.1, only slightly higher than the Warriors. The Bucks are ranked in the bottom tier for pace, but that doesn’t matter in Washington. Wall will run the floor how Wall wants to run the floor.

Raptors vs. Warriors – Like I said at the start of the season, the Warriors will be in the top 5 for pace all season long. Tonight they face a Raptors team that is about middle of the pack with a 98.3 pace rating. Curry and company will look to continue their speedy ways while they are on their home court tonight.

Slowest Projected Games

Cavaliers vs. Pistons – When you play 1 on 5 it will usually slow the game down. I’m just kidding, Lebron doesn’t only play by himself. Both these teams have pace ratings in the 90s. This one has Hoosiers basketball written all over it. The Pistons will try to exploit Drummond’s matchup and the Cavs will let Lebron do Lebron. Either way this one comes down to usage.

Defense vs. Position

Best PG Matchups

Emmanuel Mudiay vs. Jrue Holiday – The Pelicans are terrible against opposing guards. Surprisingly they are worse than the Lakers. Mudiay has had two bad games back to back, but the matchup is to good to pass up.

Worst PG Matchups

Zach LaVine vs. Goran Dragic – The Heat are ranked number 1 against opposing guards. If Rubio was for sure suiting up I would feel a little better about the matchup. LaVine has gone off lately, but I don’t have a lot of confidence in this matchup.

Best SG Matchups

Khris Middleton vs. Garrett Temple- The Greek Freak has been crushing. With Beal sitting out the Wizards have been terrible against SGs. Middleton has a great shot at hitting value tonight.

Worst SG Matchups

Andrew Wiggins vs. Dwyane Wade – Wiggins has become the starting SG for the Wolves. He gets old man Wade, but Wade/Winslow have been great defending the position this year. He may reach value, but that is about it for tonight.

Best SF Matchups

Otto Porter vs. The Greek Freak – Otto had a great game against Orlando and is a big benefactor of Beal sitting. The Bucks are ranked 30th against opposing PGs. Otto should have a great shot at hitting value tonight.

Worst SF Matchups%

DeMarre Carroll vs. The Warriors Defenders Barnes and Iggy lock opposing SF’s down. Carroll is more of a defensive SF anyway and usually doesn’t light the basket up.

Best PF Matchups

Kristaps Porzingis vs. Cody Zeller – The Hornets struggle down low and Cody has been a little banged up. Kristaps usage has gone up and he should have a great opportunity to post value tonight.

Worst PF Matchups

The Timberwolves Starter vs. Chris Bosh – Whoever gets the minutes for the Wolves should have a tough time tonight. Bosh is a great defender and has been playing great this season. There are a lot better options tonight.

Best C Matchups

Brook Lopez vs. Al Horford – The Hawks are 30th against opposing Cs. Horford won’t be able to shut down Lopez tonight. After a couple 40 fantasy point performances BroLo is a great play tonight.

Worst C Matchups

Timofey Mozgov vs. Andre Drummond – Drummond is the most elite big man defender in the league. Mozgov has struggled this year in the post and the offense runs through LBJ/K Love. Unless it’s Boogie I stay away from Drummond.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Anthony Davis ($10,800) – The Brow versus a terrible Denver frontcourt, uh yes please. Davis has been up and down this season, but posted a night 56 fantasy point outing after coming back from injury. He should dominate against a terrible Nuggets frontcourt tonight.

Save Big Bucks By Drafting

Dennis Schroder ($4,600) – Schroder should get the start for Jeff Teague tonight. Schroder should also benefit from Kent Bazemore having to sit out tonight. The Hawks love Schroder’s energy and he should have a great opportunity to hit value tonight.

Dud of the Night

Bradley Beal ($6,900) – Beal will probably not suit up tonight, but if he does I am staying away. Any injury that affects the shot or the upper body scares me. Even when Beal returns, I will have to see him register a good game or two before I jump back on the bandwagon.
