Game Flow Notes

Vegas Lines

HIGH O/U Thunder vs. Bucks- This game is very interesting to me. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been great, as well as his partner Khris Middleton. The Thunder stay great with Westbrook and Durant at the helm. With a total of 219 this is the highest scoring on the day and one of the best games for potential high scoring fantasy players. I am going to make a studs and duds lineup with all of the previously mentioned players.

LOW O/USuns vs. Grizzlies- This is actually a pretty high scoring Sunday. The total in this game is 206.5. For the Suns Alex Len has been great as he has taken over the role of consistent big man. For the Grizzlies it has been a learning curve without Marc Gasol. Both Conley and Randolph should be able to put up some big numbers against a weak Phoenix D.

HIGH PACE Warriors vs. Lakers – This game will be extremely fast paced and should even be high scoring. The problem is will it get out of hand. I am expecting a double digit spread in this one. The projected game pace is 102.1 and the fastest on the day. If you feel like Steph and Draymond can get theirs in 3 quarters then ride the wave. However, if you want to take another route look at the young guys on the Lakers as Russell and Randle have been nice DK plays lately.

LOW PACE Mavericks vs. Nuggets- This game is rather surprising, because both teams are usually faster paced. The projected game pace in this one is 96.3. I think that the Mavericks will pull out the win, but would be surprised to see this one get out of hand. I love Dirk, Chandler, and Zaza in this one. For the Nuggets Mudiay may make for a surprise play as he is recently looking like the PG we expected him to be.

Defense vs. Position

Point Guard Matchups

TARGET Stephen Curry vs. D’Angelo Russell- The Lakers are 30th against opposing PGs. Curry has been amazing over the course of February and should continue this trend into March. The biggest question here is will this game stay close?

AVOIDPatrick Beverley vs. Kyle Lowry- I loved Bev’s matchup last night against D Rose. Today there is a different story. Lowry is ranked 3rd against opposing PGs and has been lockdown this season. I think Bev struggles to reach 20 DK points tonight.

Shooting Guard Matchups

TARGET Devin Booker vs. PJ Hairston- Yes, I could easily put the Beard in this spot, but I think Booker has a game tonight. Memphis is ranked 3rd against opposing SGs, but that is pre-Hairston era. I witnessed Hairston’s defense live in Charlotte and I think Booker will give him fits today.

AVOID Hollis Thompson vs. Dwyane Wade- Wade is 2nd versus opposing SGs. If he gets a full run today then Thompson will be in for a world of hurt. I just don’t trust second rate 76ers guards.

Small Forward Matchups

TARGET Kevin Durant vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo- Honestly I like both of these guys today. Durant has the better matchup of the two as Giannis is ranked 25th against opposing SFs. With that said I think both guys have the opportunity to go over 40 DK points today.

AVOIDAl Farouq-Aminu vs. Marcus Miller- The problem with these guys is their name is Lillard or Drummond. Both are great defensive SFs and both have the same issue. They have terrible usage rates. They both should struggle to hit value today.

Power Forward Matchups

TARGET Dirk Nowitzki vs. Kenneth Faried- I have been pleasantly surprised with how well Dirk’s season has gone so far. Both of these guys are ranked in the bottom tier defensively and could put up some nice offensive numbers. I am not opposed to rolling either guy out today.

AVOIDDonatas Motiejunas vs. Luis Scola- Donatas has grabbed the start from Josh Smith in Houston. Scola is ranked 3rd against opposing PFs. Monty has a nice value price, but has yet to warrant an all-in status from me!

Center Matchups

TARGET Andre Drummond vs. Mason Plumlee- This matchup should make you salivate tonight. The Trail Blazers are ranked 24th against opposing Cs and have given up a lot of points. I think Drummond easily hits 45+ DK points today.

AVOIDChris Andersen vs. Tyson Chandler – Ah Birdman, how I love the. Unfortunately I don’t love him against fellow old man Chandler. He is really cheap tonight, but shouldn’t put up a lot of points which means no DK points for us.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Russell Westbrook ($10800) – Westy has been great all season. He is a 60 (you read that right), a 60 DK point threat anytime he takes the floor. He’s taken at least 20 shots in three of his last four games and it would be a surprise to see him not get at least that many looks against a Bucks defense that has had huge holes this season.

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Mario Chalmers ($4,300) – Chalmers is a guy that should get a lot of burn tonight against an injury decimated Phoenix Suns. I think he could easily see 25+ DK points and make for a surprise GPP play tonight.

Dud of the Night

Trevor Ariza ($6,000) – Ariza had a great matchup last night and barely posted value. Tonight he gets one of the top ranked teams against SFs in the Toronto Raptors. I think he goes for about 25 DK points tonight and comes in under value.

Out/Doubtful Tonight

Andre Iguodala – Doubtful, Michael Carter-Williams – Out, Tony Allen – Doubtful, Nerlens Noel – Out, Jahlil Okafor – Out, Nik Stauskas – Out
