Game Flow Notes

Vegas Lines

HIGH O/U Pacers vs. Kings- The Pacers were in a high scoring contest last night that produced a whopping 79 DK points from Steph Curry. With a total of 214.5 tonight it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw a similar output from DeMarcus Cousins. It’s is also no secret now that Myles Turner is in play after he put up 45+ DK points last night and gets a better matchup tonight. I love this game for fantasy action.

LOW O/UGrizzlies vs. Timberwolves- With the Jazz game being postponed the Grizzlies get the honors tonight. With a total of 193.5 this game will be the lowest scoring of the evening. I don’t have a lot of favorite plays in this matchup, but if I have to pick one from each squad it would be Marc Gasol for the Griz and Andrew Wiggins for the Wolves based on matchups and usage.

HIGH PACE Hawks vs. Suns- There is no snow in Phoenix, but there are also no players either. This high paced game is packed with value as all the Suns big names are out. With a projected game pace of 102.1 this game should be a fantasy gold mine. I love Millsap, Bazemore, and maybe a little Schroder for the Hawks. I also love Goodwin and Len for the Suns. Whoever, crushes the value in this game will win all the monies.

LOW PACEKnicks vs. Hornets- What are my hometown boys doing at the bottom of the pace pole tonight. Obviously this has a lot to do with Carmelo iso-ball. With a projected game pace of 95.9 this one isn’t as fast as the Hornets would like it. I like where Melo and Kristaps come in at (if they play) for the Knicks. It also may be good to ride the hot hand of Kemba as he has been on fire lately.

Defense vs. Position

TARGETDamian Lillard vs. Jordan Clarkson- The Lakers are ranked 30th against opposing PGs. Lillard is the Trailblazers scoring. This one is a no brainer and should easily reach value tonight.

AVOID Ricky Rubio vs. Mike Conley- This feels like a night to put Rubio on the shelf and roll out Andrew Wiggins. Conley is a great defender and you could make a case that he is the best PG defender in the league. The Griz are ranked 9th against opposing PGs and should lock the elite passer down tonight.

TARGETCJ McCollum vs Lou Williams- Remember how I told you that Damian Lillard was the Trailblazers….Well there is a second piece to that equation. McCollum has had a great season and gets a great matchup against the Lakers tonight. I have him projected at 35+ DK points tonight.

AVOIDJR Smith/Iman Shumpert vs. Jimmy Butler With the head ball coach gone from the building it won’t help the fantasy value of either Cavs SG. Butler is a lockdown defender and could even play on LBJ tonight. These matchups won’t matter as both guys will see limited usage on the offensive side of the ball.

Small Forward Matchups

TARGET LeBron James vs. Nikola Mirotic/Tony Snell – LBJ doesn’t like the Bulls. I don’t think this is public knowledge, but you can tell by his play. He had to play at an elite level for the Cavs to win. I project a nice 50+ DK game from the King tonight.

AVOID Marcus Morris vs. Danilo Gallinari – Both of these guys have been great defensively this season. Both of them are top 10 individually against opposing SFs. I think they may hit value for a cash game, but if I want to take down big money I am staying away.

TARGET DeMarcus Cousins vs. The Pacers- I know you are getting tired of dancing, but put Boogie in 1 on 5 and he still hits value.

AVOID Kenneth Faried vs. Ersan Ilyasova – Ersanity hasn’t been bad as of late. The Manimal on the other hand has been mediocre. I am paying up for the two big ballers tonight.

TARGETAlex Len/Tyson Chandler vs. Al Horford Ok, I’m not saying that either one of these guys will be going for 50+ tonight, but they are all the Suns have. Somebody has to score and get rebounds and for a cheaper price the value looks good for both of these guys.

AVOID Spencer Hawes vs. Robin Lopez- I know I just Twitter bragged about Hawes and how great a pick he was last night. However, tonight and the matchup with RoLo is a lot tougher (after an OT game). There is so much value at the C position tonight it is all going to come down to picking the right guy.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

DeMarcus Cousins (10,700)- You know you are an elite player when you can have a “bad” night and still hit value. Boogie has it all going for him tonight. He is projected as the highest fantasy scorer and faces an injury riddled Pacers team on a back to back. It feels like one of those nights again where we will be boogie around a 50 burger!

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Archie Goodwin (3,800) – The Suns may shut every elite player down for the season, which means that the low totem pole guys get run. Goodwin has been great in his starts and will get the go again tonight. I think he easily exceeds value tonight.

Dud of the Night

Zach Randolph (6,100) – With Matt Barnes back from injury Randolph hasn’t found value in about 4 games. His usage and coming off the bench are big concerns for a guy over 6k.

This is not a comprehensive list. Be sure to check for injury updates throughout the day
