Game Flow Notes

Vegas Lines

HIGH O/U Kings vs. Clippers- With a total of 216 this is the highest of the night. This one should provide a lot of action and remain relatively close. I love CP3 and DeAndre. The play of the night should be DeMarcus Cousins, however, as the Clippers will be without Blake again tonight. This game could warrant a mini stack.

LOW O/ULakers vs. Jazz- No, you aren’t going to have to hear me harp about how slow and miserable the Jazz play….but they do play slow and miserable. With a 191 total this game won’t provide a lot of scoring. From a fantasy standpoint I like Gobert as there should be rebounds galore. I also like Hayward as he is in a plus matchup.

Pace of Play

HIGH PACE Wizards vs. Celtics – With a projected pace of 102.9 this is the highest on the night. I love the matchup between Isaiah Thomas and John Wall. I also love Amir Johnson as a sneaky play in this one.

LOW PACEGrizzlies vs. Knicks – Without Melo, this game should be a slow slugfest. I know that the Jazz would usually find this spot, but the Grizz hold it tonight. Hey…at least Kristaps is in play!

Defense vs. Position

Point Guard Matchups

TARGET Chris Paul vs.Rajon Rondo- CP3’s usage has gone sky high since Blake has been sidelined. He has also gotten over the slow start and has provided us with some great fantasy action. The Kings are in the bottom tier against opposing PGs and CP3 should be on track for 45+ DK points tonight.

AVOID Jordan Clarkson vs. Trey Burke- The Heat and the Jazz are two teams that I avoid playing PGs against. This is because they are ranked 1 and 2 respectively against opposing guards. Clarkson has been all over value lately, but to win a GPP you need more and I just don’t see that happening tonight.

Shooting Guard Matchups

TARGETC.J. McCollum vs. Hollis Thompson-It really doesn’t matter who the 76ers start at SG, they are terrible at the position. McCollum plays a vital role in the scheme of the Trailblazers and should have his way tonight. I think we will be looking at a 35+ DK point game.

AVOIDGarrett Temple/Brad Beal vs. Avery Bradley Bradley is finally coming back off of injury and is one of the league’s elite SG defenders. The Celtics are in the top 5 against opposing guards. Temple and Beal will split time tonight and should struggle to hit value.

Small Forward Matchups

TARGET Nicolas Batum Vs. Giannis Antetokounmpo – Batum finally put together a couple nice nights after coming off of injury. The Greek Freak can score, but has had trouble defending anybody. If I want consistency and points tonight at the SF spot I have to roll out Batum.

AVOIDHarrison Barnes vs. Marcus Morris Honestly neither one of these guys appeal to me tonight. Both of them are in the top tier against opposing SFs, but neither one of them has a desirable usage. Unfortunately, it feels like a night to spend up on SFs tonight.

Power Forward Matchups

TARGETDraymond Green vs. Ersan Ilyasova- Draymond is a beast and a triple double machine. He has been on fire all season and should continue that tonight. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 50 burger in this one.

AVOID Marvin Williams vs. Jabari Parker- This one is simple, Williams is a stretch 4 that shoots 3s. Well, that’s about it….nothing more to see here. I would rather spend up or look elsewhere than play Williams tonight.

Center Matchups

TARGETAndre Drummond vs. Andrew Bogut Drummond is a beast and slowly becoming one of the best Cs in the game. Bogut is a decent defender, but the pace and Drummond’s usage should guarantee a decent game. I feel that it guarantees a lot more and predict 40+ DK points tonight.

AVOIDRobin Lopez vs. Marc Gasol- Gasol’s scoring has struggled this season, but his D is still the same. Lopez has been overshadowed by Affalo and Kristaps, but has never really been an elite C. I think that one of the Boston guys would make a better play at Lopez’s price point.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

DeMarcus Cousins ($10,500) – Listen, fast pace and no Blake Griffin. Play Boogie!

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Avery Bradley ($5,200) – Bradley is back and gets a great matchup against the Wiz tonight. He was all over value last night and has an even better chance tonight. I love where he sets up.

Dud of the Night

Klay Thompson ($7,900) – Thompson has had some nice outings, but the matchup and price turn me off tonight. I just feel like he should be at about 6.5k tonight and his price makes me think Dud!
