Game Flow Notes
HIGH O/U – Mavericks vs. Thunder – With two of the most prolific scorers in the league on your team it isn’t surprising that you have the highest total. With a total of 211.5 the Thunder and the Mav should be lighting it up tonight. Westy and KD are in play. For the Mavs Parsons looked like his old self the other night and may make for a great value play.
LOW O/U – Knicks vs. Nets- It will be interesting to see how Carmelo does tonight considering his ankle tweak last night. With the lowest total on the night at 192.5, this game sets up as a grudge match for New York. I like both sets of post players in this one and I love the brother v brother narrative.
Pace of Play
HIGH PACE – Pelicans vs. Kings- With a projected game pace of 103.1 this game will be blazing. Both teams like to push the floor and this game should be a lot more interesting if the Brow suits up. Boogie should have his way with the Pelicans tonight.
LOW PACE – Jazz vs. Trailblazers – One word….the Jazz. All it takes is the Jazz and we know that the pace will be slow. With a projected pace of 92.9 this is the slowest on the night.
Defense vs. Position
Point Guard Matchups
TARGET – Tyreke Evans vs. Rajon Rondo- I love both of these guys tonight. They both command the ships for high scoring teams. Tyreke has the best matchup as the Kings are ranked 27th against opposing PGs.
AVOID – George Hill vs. Isaiah Thomas – George made a great play last night against a decimated Suns team. IT2 is ranked 1st against opposing PGs and will look to shut Hill down. I would rather stack up on Reke and Rondo.
Shooting Guard Matchups
TARGET – Klay Thompson vs. Will Barton- With Draymond Green doubtful tonight, Thompson’s usage will go up. The Nuggets are ranked 30th against SGs which is dead last in the league. Klay has finally caught fire and should maintain his consistency tonight.
AVOID – J.J. Redick vs. Dwyane Wade Redick has had to up his game with Blake sidelined. Unfortunately he gets a tough matchup tonight against D Wade and the Heat. The Heat are 2nd in the league against SGs and have shut down pretty much every SG in the league.
Small Forward Matchups
TARGET – Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Otto Porter – The Greek Freak hammed it up last night against the Bulls. Porter has turned it on offensively, but is still ranked 29th against opposing SFs. Once again, I actually will have exposure to both guys.
AVOID – Jae Crowder vs. Paul George Since PG has worked his way back into the SF spot the Pacers are ranked 3rd against opposing SFs. Crowder has hit value in his last five, but should come in right under it tonight.
Power Forward Matchups
TARGET – Paul Millsap vs. Cody Zeller – I love my Hornets, but they can’t guard a PF. Millsap is the main scorer for the Hawks and will look to dominate the boards tonight. Unfortunately my Hornets are 27th against PFs and won’t get any better this season.
AVOID – Dirk Nowitzki vs. Serge Ibaka – Dirk has looked like young Dirk again this season. Unfortunately, Ibaka always gives him a fit. Coming in ranked 7th against PFs the Thunder should be to much for Dirk tonight.
TARGET – Rudy Gobert vs. Mason Plumlee Gobert is back from injury and receiving a nice compliment of minutes. The Trailblazers couldn’t guard me and are ranked 25th against Cs. Roll him out tonight.
AVOID – Zaza Pachulia vs. Steven Adams – I like Zaza, but the matchup is tough tonight. Adams is ranked 3rd against opposing Cs. Zaza may reach value tonight, but I don’t see him exceeding.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
DeMarcus Cousins ($10,500) – Boogie’s last 4 games have been 50+ DK points. The trend will not stop tonight. DeMarcus has become one of the best fantasy plays in the league. His ability to fill stat categories makes him an asset to any DK team. Play him as much as possible tonight.
Save Big Bucks by Drafting
Drew Gooden ($3,800) – Marcin Gortat is out for the night and the Wiz are basically without big men. Gooden had a nice showing with the extra minutes during his last outing. He should be able to get some board and add a couple points. I like him to produce 20+ DK points tonight.
Dud of the Night
Thaddeus Young ($7,200) – Thad has been ice cold as of late. Tonight he gets a tough matchup against the fiery rookie Kristaps Porzingis. I am hoping that Thad will right the ship and get his consistency back, but unfortunately tonight doesn’t look like it will provide the best opportunity.
This is not a comprehensive list. Be sure to check for injury updates throughout the day
Marcin Gortat – Out, Jerryd Bayless – Out, Rodney Stuckey – Doubtful, Draymond Green – Doubtful
