Game Flow Notes

Vegas Lines

HIGH O/U Thunder vs. Suns – As Kevin Durant sat at the big game on Sunday night taking pictures, he was probably thinking about scoring a lot tonight. I love the 217.5 total in this one, but I don’t like the spread. Charles Barkley said it best, even the Nachos are bad in Phoenix. Westbrook and KD should both get their burn and score fantasy points. As for the Suns, there aren’t many solid options.

LOW O/U Trailblazers vs. Grizzlies- The Griz are coming in with a 198.5 total tonight. This game will be slow and honestly should be miserable. If I have to run anybody from this one it will be the stars, Lillard and Gasol. Other than that I am staying away.

HIGH PACE Clippers vs. 76ers – The Clippers are without Blake Griffin, but have still stayed fast pace with CP3 running the floor. The projected game pace is 100.3. I love CP3 and Deandre Jordan tonight as both are in positive matchups. I also like where Nerlens Noel fits in as the Clips are Griffinless.

LOW PACE Raptors vs. Pistons – The Raptors and Pistons have both been two of the slower pace teams this season. With a projected game pace of 95.9, they come in only slightly faster than the Griz. Obviously, Lowry makes for a great play tonight for the Raps. On the Pistons side it will be all about Drummond as he looks to show people why he should be an All-Star.

TARGETChris Paul vs. Ish Smith – Westbrook is my favorite play on the night, but I am a little worried about the spread. The Clippers spread is a little closer and CP3 should have to play the whole game. The 76ers are 24th against opposing PGs and based on usage CP3 should potentially exceed value tonight.

AVOIDJordan Clarkson vs. George Hill – Honestly, I don’t know what Scott is doing with or to the Lakers. Hill and the Pacers are 6th against opposing PGs. Hill has been great defensively this year and the Lakers just aren’t any good. I just think there are better ways to spend salary tonight.

TARGETJR Smith vs. King’s Starting SG – Smith has found his stroke in the faster pace Ty Lue era. He has been stroking and gets a great matchup tonight. The Kings can’t guard any SGs and this plays right into Smith’s hands.

AVOIDKyle Korver vs. Victor Oladipo – Korver had a nice outing last game, but the matchup is just a little harder tonight. The Magic are ranked 6th against opposing SGs (with the help of starter Evan Fournier as well). I have Korver coming in just under 20 DK points tonight and that just won’t get it done.

TARGET Kevin Durant vs. PJ Tucker- After moonlighting as an NFL photographer, KD will look to score a lot tonight. I think KD hits value and does so in only 3 quarters of play.

AVOIDAl Farouq-Aminu vs. Matt Barnes- Both of these guys are defensive minded and don’t get a lot of offensive usage. Barnes had a cool 40 DK point showing during his last game, but will have a lot tougher matchup tonight. Both guys are in the top 20 against opposing SFs and will look to shut each other down tonight.

TARGETDeMarcus Cousins vs. Kevin Love – The Cavs are actually very good against opposing PFs. Love is questionable tonight, but should suit up. Boogie will be Boogie though and should try to outshine Lebron and the Cavs.

AVOID Ersan Ilyasova vs. Luis Scola – The Raps are 7th against opposing PFs. Ersanity just can’t seem to get it going consistently this season. I am staying away from both guys as neither has the usage to get a lot done.

TARGET Karl Anthony-Towns vs. Alexis Ajinca – KAT has been great over the last 10 games. The Pelicans are giving up a lot of fantasy points and the trend won’t stop tonight. I think the rookie gets 40+ DK points tonight and easily exceeds value.

AVOID Mason Plumlee vs. Marc Gasol – Even though Gasol hasn’t been as much a scoring threat this season he is still great defensively. Plumlee will have his hands full with 12-13 defensive player of the year. I have Plumlee at about 20 DK points tonight.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

Russell Westbrook ($11,300) – Westy for 60 DK points…I definitely think so. Westbrook has everything going for him to be a great fantasy player. If you are looking for matchup, usage, or minutes you have it all right here.

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Ian Mahinmi ($4,700) – Mahinmi is back at it and gets a nice matchup against the Lakers. The Lakers have struggled with Cs all season long. Mahinmi only had 7.25 DK point in his last start, but his minutes should go up and this is a totally different animal.

Dud of the Night

Nikola Jokic ($6,500) – Jokic cooled off against RoLo on Sunday. He gets BroLo tonight and even though the defense isn’t as good he will have a tough matchup. I have him projected at about 25 DK points tonight, which won’t get it done based on price.

Out/Doubtful Tonight

Noah Vonleh – Doubtful, Kevin Garnett – Doubtful, Nikola Pekovic – Doubtful
