Game Flow Notes
HIGH O/U – 3 games – There are three games tonight with a 222 over/under. All of these games will be fast paced and high scoring. The Warriors/Magic game should be Steph Curry heavy, with Vucevic carrying the load for the Magic. The Thunder/Pelicans game will be led by Westbrook and Durant. Anthony Davis will try to produce a better performance than his last 2 point in the first quarter outing. The Rockets/Trail Blazers game is projected as the closest of the high scoring. I love the Beard in this one and think that Damian Lillard will use this game as a catalyst to get back on track.
LOW O/U – Nets vs. Suns- When the lowest scoring game on the night is 208.5 (so far), you know that tonight will be fireworks heavy. Both teams present us with a lot of value as they are riddled with injuries. I love Teletovic and Pressey as value for the Suns. On the Nets side of the ball, Thad Young, BroLo, and Donald Sloan are all in play in positive matchups.
Pace of Play
|Away Team||Away Pace||Home Team||Home Pace||Avg Pace|
|Oklahoma City||100.80||New Orleans||99.90||100.35|
HIGH PACE – Warriors vs. Magic – This one has a high score and a fast pace. The projected game pace is 101.2. Steph and Vuc, once again Steph and Vuc.
LOW PACE – Spurs vs. Jazz – The Jazz are totaless, but that doesn’t mean they are paceless. With a projected game pace of 91.6 this one will be slow. I am actually staying away from all plays in this one due to the high scoring games on the night.
h2. Defense vs. Position
Point Guard Matchups
TARGET – Stephen Curry vs. Elfrid Payton – Back to Back 60+ DK games for the Chef is very encouraging when choosing a PG tonight. The Magic are 21st against opposing PGs, but I honestly think Curry could play the Dream Team and put up monster numbers. Curry should be a top tier option tonight at the PG position.
AVOID – Tony Parker vs. Shelvin Mack – Old man Parker has put up some nice games lately, but that was due to matchup and Kawhi being out. Tonight he gets a rejuvenated Mack who has found life in Utah. I think Parker goes for about 25 DK points tonight.
Shooting Guard Matchups
TARGET – James Harden vs. C.J. McCollum – Both of these guys are in play tonight. The Beard has the opportunity to go for 50 and McCollum could give us a repeat of his last performance. Neither guy plays alot of defense, so I will be rolling out both guys liberally.
AVOID – Devin Booker vs. Wayne Ellington – Booker put up 41 points against the Warriors, but he just hasn’t been on point lately. The Nets are ranked 20th against opposing SGs. Booker is going to have to prove he is back on his scoring train before I hop on board.
Small Forward Matchups
TARGET – Kevin Durant vs. Dante Cunningham- KD is obviously the best SF option on the night. The Pelicans are ranked 12th against opposing SFs, but KD is KD. I have him projected at 45+ DK points tonight and the 222 total makes me even more excited.
AVOID – Maurice Harkless vs. Trevor Ariza- The Rockets have been terrible against the SF position all season. I thought that Mo was making a turn for the better with two excellent DK performances back to back. Then he gave us a massive 10 point game during his last outing. I think he is a 20 point performance at best tonight.
Power Forward Matchups
TARGET – Anthony Davis vs. Serge Ibaka – The Anthony Davis show was pitiful during his last game. In a faster pace matchup with 222 total points Davis will be wanting to put on a show. Ibaka is a good defender, but he won’t be enough to stop the athlete that is Davis.
AVOID – Jon Leuer vs. Thaddeus Young – Thad’s defense has dropped over the last month and he is now 20th against opposing PFs. I think this is due to him having to do more on the offensive boards. Leuer is getting the start for the Suns, but hasn’t been as impressive as his counterpart Teletovic.
TARGET – Nikola Vucevic vs. Andrew Bogut – Vuc went nuts against Philly in his last game and put up 52 DK points. Tonight he gets the Warriors and a 23rd ranked matchup. With Tobias out of town he has the potential to put up 40+ tonight.
AVOID – Tyson Chandler vs. Brook Lopez – Chandler is back from injury, but will probably be limited tonight. The Nets are ranked 20th against opposing Cs and will try to hamper Chandler’s game tonight. I will say that if Alex Len sits it could make Chandler a decent cash play.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Russell Westbrook ($11,000) – Westy has been unstoppable all season long. He gets the Pelican’s tonight who have struggled against opposing PGs. Westy will do Westy and should go big tonight.
h3. Save Big Bucks by Drafting
Shelvin Mack ($4,100) – Mack is starting and costs 4.1K. Yes, please I will take all of the shares.
Dud of the Night
Gordon Hayward ($7,100) – Hayward is usually a great play. However, tonight he gets a fresh Kawhi Leonard. When Kawhi guards somebody I stay away and tonight is one of those nights.
John Henson – Doubtful, Jerryd Bayless – Doubtful, Matt Bonner – Out-
