Game Flow Notes
HIGH O/U – Warriors vs. Clippers – When Damian Lillard gets snubbed, he stays mad for a long time. He put up huge numbers against the Warriors last night. The total in tonight’s game is 221.5. This game always gets heated as there isn’t much love loss between the two teams. Four of the stars are projected in the top 8 for fantasy scoring tonight. Look for Paul and Jordan to hog the usage for the Clippers. On the other side of the ball Curry and company (Draymond) will be mad about last night and wanting to put up a lot of points.
LOW O/U – Knicks vs. Timberwolves- The lowest scoring on the night is 204.5. The Knicks are still trying to run the triangle offense and the Wolves are full of young talent. I love Melo and Kristaps to lead the charge for the Knicks. On the Wolves side, Towns and Wiggins should highlight the scoring. I also like where Rubio comes in tonight.
Pace of Play
|Away Team||Away Pace||Home Team||Home Pace||Avg Pace|
HIGH PACE – Bucks vs. Hawks – Obviously the Warriors game is the highest pace, but I wanted to give you insight into the other games on the night as well. WIth a projected pace of 97.6 this is the second highest on the night. Even though Jason Kidd isn’t that bright and is making Monroe come off of the bench, he should still hit value tonight. For the Hawks it should be the MIllsap show with a little Horford sprinkled in.
LOW PACE – Wizards vs. Heat – The second slowest pace really isn’t that slow at a 97 projected game pace. John Wall will look to control this game as he has been en fuego the past couple of weeks. Whiteside returns from suspension tonight and it will be interesting to see if Wade plays tonight
Defense vs. Position
Point Guard Matchups
TARGET – Steph Curry vs. Chris Paul – Two of the top PGs in the league square off against each other tonight. They are also projected as the two highest fantasy point scorers on the night. If you can afford them, get them in your lineup.
AVOID – Jose Calderon vs. Ricky Rubio – The Wolves have struggled against opposing PGs and are currently ranked 23rd. However, Calderon’s usage is limited due to being on a team with Carmelo Anthony. I think he will come in slightly under value tonight.
Shooting Guard Matchups
TARGET – Khris Middleton vs. Kyle Korver – The Hawks are ranked 24th against opposing SGs. Middleton has been on fire lately and has lit up the DK scoreboard. With 40 DK points last night against the Hornets he will look to put up 40 again tonight.
AVOID – Bradley Beal vs. Dwyane Wade – This doesn’t even depend on Wade’s injury because WInslow/Green are also good defenders. Beal just hasn’t been worth the price yet and his cost needs to come down before I will run him. He needs 35 DK points to reach value and I’m not confident yet.
Small Forward Matchups
TARGET – Carmelo Anthony vs. Andrew Wiggins (SG)- Melo is the same old Melo. HIgh usage and shoot 7000 times. He has to hit value shooting that much.
AVOID – Wesley Johnson vs. Harrison Barnes- Johnson gets the 17th ranked Warriors tonight. I like his price, but usage is still the worry. I have him projected at about 15 DK points tonight and that just won’t get it done.
Power Forward Matchups
TARGET – Draymond Green vs. A Griffinless Clippers – Draymond doesn’t like the Clippers and the Clippers don’t like Draymond. Draymond will not be happy about last night’s game so he should come out for blood. I think we see a 40+ DK point performance from one of the league’s best tonight.
AVOID – Markieff Morris vs. Chris Bosh – I really like this fit for Kieff, but just still see a lot of uncertainty in his playing time and usage. The Heat are ranked 2nd against opposing PFs and Morris will have a tough matchup tonight.
TARGET – Deandre Jordan vs. Andrew Bogut – 46, 50, 40…that’s the last 3 DK totals for Deandre. DJ will need a big performance tonight to keep the Clips in the game. Golden State is ranked 17th against opposing Cs and will have to work hard to contain DJ tonight.
AVOID – Robin Lopez vs. Karl Anthony-Towns – KAT has been great during his rookie year. RoLo has the Calderon complex and just doesn’t have the usage. I like other options tonight.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Chris Paul (9,400) – I bet CP3 still has nightmares of Steph breaking his ankles a couple of years ago. Tonight it will be on Paul’s shoulders to pull out a win. I think he goes big and is the top fantasy scorer on the night.
Save Big Bucks by Drafting
JJ Reddick (4,900) – Reddick’s usage has gone up with Blake out of the lineup. At his price he is the best value on the night. On a short slate you can’t be picky, but JJ should help open up some salary.
Dud of the Night
Markieff Morris (6,200) – Morris is still priced too high for his uncertainty. There are safer plays tonight.
Gary Neal – Doubtful, John Henson – Doubtful, Nene Hilario – Doubtful
