Game Flow Notes

HIGH O/U Bulls vs. Cavs – Welcome Back, ohhh Welcome Back. With the “Welcome Back Kotter” tune playing in my head, I am extremely excited to have NBA games tonight. With an o/u of 207.5 this is highest total of the night (tied with Spurs/Clipps). I love when LeBron plays the Bulls, because he has developed a hatred for them. LBJ is projected as the highest fantasy scorer tonight, with K Love and Kyrie rounding out the scoring for the Cavs. On the Bulls side they are riddled with injuries and will rely heavily on Pau Gasol to lead them to the promise land. He should also help lead your fantasy team tonight.

LOW O/U Jazz vs. Wizards- Even after a week off, nothing changes. If the Jazz are playing, they are the lowest scoring. With a 198 total they are the lowest on this short slate. John Wall is probable and is usually never in danger of sitting. However, this game should be defense heavy and makes me want to look elsewhere on a short slate.

HIGH PACE Spurs vs. Clippers – It is unusual to see the Spurs in a higher pace game, but with CP3 pushing the court on the other side of the ball this will be the fastest on the night. With a projected game pace of 96.6, this game should be great playing off of the coattails of last years playoffs. I love Paul and Jordan, as they should carry the load for the Clippers. The Spurs have a lot of enticing plays due to lower cost. Tim Duncan makes for a great play at his price point.

LOW PACEGAME Jazz vs. Wizards – Here we are again, short slate and slow speed. With a projected game pace of 95.2 this is the slowest on the night.

Defense vs. Position

TARGETChris Paul vs. Tony Parker/Patty Mills – Parker was hobbled up before the All-Star break. Paul’s usage has been extremely high with Blake out. CP3 put up 70 DK points during his last outing. I don’t expect a repeat performance, but I do think he has a nice line tonight.

AVOIDRaul Neto vs. John Wall – Neto has been a nice source of value with all of the guard injuries in Utah. However, he hasn’t done enough to make me want to run out and play him in a GPP. Wall is 17th against opposing PGs, which isn’t great, but Neto will have nothing for him tonight.

TARGETRodney Hood vs. Bradley Beal – What’s Hood with you tonight, definitely Rodney (too much)? Hood has the best SG matchup on the night, against the 26th ranked Wizards. Beal has played decent coming off of injury, but I think Hood has a 25+ night tonight.

AVOIDDanny Green vs. J.J. Redick – Reddick isn’t necessarily a lockdown defender, but is ranked 10th against opposing SGs. Green has seen an increase in value with Tony Parker out, but if Parker plays his stock goes way down. I have him projected at 20 DK points tonight.

TARGET LeBron James vs. Doug McDermott- There is nobody on the Bulls that can guard LBJ. Simply put he should be our top fantasy scorer tonight.

AVOIDPaul Pierce vs. Kawhi Leonard- Pierce has taken a back seat to Wesley Johnson. He just hasn’t been the same player this season and his age is starting to show. Kawhi is the 1st ranked defender in the league against opposing SFs and this won’t change tonight.

TARGETKevin Love vs. Taj Gibson – K Love is probable tonight and has been able to rest up. He has a great matchup against the 16th ranked Bulls. With his normal complement of minutes he should see 30+ DK points tonight.

AVOID Nene Hilario vs. Derrick Favors – Nene gets the best PF defender in the league tonight. Favors is a monster and has finally healed from injury. I think Nene is look at 20 DK points tonight and that is pushing the envelope.

TARGET DeAndre Jordan vs. Tim Duncan – Old man Duncan is back and will try to help improve the Spurs DvP. They are presently ranked 4th against opposing Cs, but the want to be 1st. DeAndre is a usage monster and with Griffin sidelined he has been exploiting value. I just don’t see better options at C tonight.

AVOID Timofey Mozgov vs. Pau Gasol – Poor Mozgov has taken a backseat to everybody this season. The Bulls are terrible against opposing Cs and are ranked 27th. However, Mozgov just doesn’t seem to fit anymore and this has caused his downfall. With a projected 15 DK points on the table, I am staying away.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

LeBron James ($9,800) – The King versus the Bulls is always a good play. With Ty Lue leading the charge, the Cavs are back in business. I think LBJ leads all scorers tonight.

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Tristan Thompson ($5,200) – Thompson has fit perfectly in Lue’s quicker pace system. He has great value tonight in a good matchup. I like him a lot as a lower cost play tonight.

Dud of the Night

Marcin Gortat ($6,400) – Gortat was a great play a couple of weeks ago when everybody was injured. The Wiz are getting close to full strength again. Gortat has a tough matchup against Rudy Gobert tonight and this should limit his scoring.
