Game Flow Notes
HIGH O/U – Celtics vs. Pelicans – This game comes in at the highest O/U of the night at 214. IT2 will look to push the ball down the court and has a great matchup against the Pelicans. On the other side of the ball Anthony Davis has the ability to put up endless amounts of fantasy points tonight.
LOW O/U – Spurs vs. 76ers – With a 189.5 total, this one is the lowest of the night. The 76ers have a win under their belt, but should be playing uphill in this game against the 17-4 Spurs. The Spurs will look to Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge to dominate offensive glass. The 76ers will look to one man and hope that he can score 1000, Robert Covington.
Pace of Play
HIGH PACE – Suns vs. Bulls – The Suns play at a blazing pace and the Bulls will have to keep up tonight. This game has a projected game pace of 103.1. The Bulls are coming off of a loss to my Hornets and will look to right the ship. I can’t wait to see the battle between Eric Bledsoe and Jimmy Butler in this one. Make sure to monitor injury news to find out who will start in the post for the Suns.
LOW PACE – Trailblazers vs. Bucks – The Bucks are at it again, with the slowest pace on the night. The projected game pace in this one is 94.4. The Trailblazers usually like to push the pace with Damian Lillard, but tonight Coach Kidd will probably try to work Greg Monroe in the post. We are going to petition a name change from Bucks to Boring (horrible joke, I know).
Defense vs. Position
Point Guard Matchups
TARGET – Isaiah Thomas vs. Tyreke Evans/Jrue Holiday – Even with the return of Evans, the Pelicans are still one of the worst teams in the league against opposing PGs. IT2 has been a scoring machine for the Pelicans and will have a lot of opportunities tonight.
AVOID – Ramon Sessions vs. Goran Dragic – The Heat are ranked 2nd against PGs this year. Sessions may get the start for a questionable John Wall. He will definitely be attractive due to value, but will have a tough match up with the Heat.
Shooting Guard Matchups
TARGET – Dwyane Wade vs. Brad Beal – The Wizards are injury decimated right now, they are thin at the post and may have to play without John Wall for a few games. Beal will be focused on offense, which won’t help the Wizards 27th ranking against opposing SGs. Old man Wade makes for a great play tonight.
AVOID – 76ers Starter vs. Danny Green – The Spurs are ranked 1st against opposing SGs. The 76ers rolled out a combo of Canaan and McConnell last game. It will be interesting to see who starts, but will be a tough match up for either guy.
Small Forward Matchups
TARGET – Kawhi Leonard vs. Robert Covington – The 76ers can’t guard SFs. Well…the 76ers can’t guard anybody, especially SFs. Kawhi has a chance to go insane tonight and has the potential to exceed value.
AVOID – Giannis Antetokounmpo vs. Al-Farouq Aminu- The Greek Freak gets a matchup against the 2nd ranked team against opposing SFs. Aminu has been great defensively, but has cooled off on the offensive side of the court. Giannis will have another tough time with Aminu tonight.
Power Forward Matchups
TARGET – LaMarcus Aldridge vs. Nerlens Noel – I know what you are thinking, LMA hasn’t hit value in his last 3 match ups. If there was ever a night to play LMA tonight’s that night. The 76ers are terrible against PFs and LMA can honestly have his way with them tonight.
AVOID – Dirk Nowitzki vs. Kristaps Porzingis – Old Dirk vs. New Dirk… I love this match up. Porzingis has been great against opposing PFs and Dirk has surprisingly had a decent season. Unfortunately for Dirk I like the young buck in this one.
TARGET – Greg Monroe vs. Mason Plumlee – I really don’t understand what Coach Kidd is trying to do with the Bucks. But tonight, however, I do know that Greg Monroe has a great match up. The Trailblazers are bottom of the barrel against Cs. Monroe has had 2 back to back 40 DK point games. I love where he sets up.
AVOID – Jahlil Okafor vs. Tim Duncan- The rookie will definitely need his bodyguards when old man Duncan comes to town. Okafor started off hot, but has since cooled as his off the court issues have come to the forefront.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Anthony Davis ($11,100) – 61.75, 61, 55.75, 59.50….what do all these numbers mean? They are the past 4 DK scores for the Brow. If you want production look no further than Davis. Tonight he gets a great match up against the fast paced Celtics and has a great opportunity to post a 60 burger.
Save Big Bucks by Drafting
Lucas Nogueira ($3,000) – I know, who is Nogueira? The Toronto Center comes in at minimum price tonight. He gets a great match up against the Lakers and posted 25 DK points during his last outing.
Dud of the Night
John Wall ($5,200) – I apologize Mr. Wall, I promised you would never see the Dud section again after you went off against the Cavaliers. But…tonight you are questionable and may be a candidate to sit. Make sure you check injury updates and if Wall does sit, Ramon Sessions makes for a great spot play.
