Everything you need to know for tonight’s NBA slate. Let’s dive right in!
Game Flow Notes
HIGH O/U – Suns vs. Wizards – This one has a 212 o/u, but has a lot of injuries. The value in the post should be great in this one and we should see a lot of Wall and Bledsoe. I look for a lot of small ball tonight as the big men (Gortat, Chandler, Morris) are down.
LOW O/U – Nets vs. Knicks – The battle for New York will be the battle of the Lopez brothers. The o/u for this one is 191.5. Unlike the highest scoring game, I love the post players in this one. Not only will we see the Lopez battle, but we will also have a battle between Thad Young and Kristaps Porzingis.
Pace of Play
HIGH PACE – Rockets vs. Mavericks – The Suns and Wizards are projected at a 105.4 pace, the Rockets and Mavs come in at a 100.5 pace. With Harden and company this one will be up and down the court. Dwight Howard will sit tonight which means all the Clint Capela.
LOW PACE – Bucks vs. Pistons – The battle of the slows tonight belongs to the Bucks. The Bucks have been one of the slowest teams in the league since the beginning of the season. The projected pace of this game is 93.7. I love the battle between Drummond and Monroe in this one.
Defense vs. Position
Point Guard Matchups
TARGET – Jeff Teague vs. D’Angelo Russell – The Lakers are bad right now and they have officially take the leagues worst against PGs spot. Teague is an integral part of the Hawks offense and has a great chance to exceed value tonight.
AVOID – The Bucks Starter vs. Reggie Jackson – I am worried about the PG situation in Milwaukee. Coach Kidd can’t seem to determine a viable starter and Tyler Ennis definitely wasn’t the answer. No matter who gets the start tonight Jackson will look to shut them down.
Shooting Guard Matchups
TARGET – Eric Bledsoe vs. Brad Beal – Here is another one of those matchups where I love both players. Due to all of the injuries I feel like both guys will hit value. Bledsoe has the best matchup against the Wizards who are 25th against opposing SGs. It should be all small ball tonight though, so we should see a lot of both players.
AVOID – James Harden vs. Wes Matthews – The Iron Man had a good game against his old team last outing. Tonight he will get his opportunity to shut the Beard down. Harden has been great the past couple of games, but will get the 4th ranked team against opposing SGs tonight.
Small Forward Matchups
TARGET – T.J. Warren vs. Otto Porter – The Wizards are terrible against the SF spot. Warren probably won’t get the start, but he will see his share of minutes. Warren is a scorer and in a game that should be a lot of small ball he will have a lot of opportunities.
AVOID – Giannis Antetokounmpo vs.Marcus Morris- Morris crushed his old team the other night with a +50 point fantasy performance. Tonight he will look to shut down the Greek Freak and has been great against opposing SFs. Giannis hasn’t hit value in the last three games, I am staying away.
Power Forward Matchups
TARGET – Paul Millsap vs. Julius Randle – The Lakers are terrible against post players. Millsap has been the leading producer on the Hawks. He has a great matchup tonight against the terrible Lakers.
AVOID – Kristaps Porzingis vs. Thad Young – Guess what, these two teams are ranked 1st and 2nd against opposing PFs. The matchup between Porzingis and Young should be a great one. It will be interesting to see if these two produce like usual tonight.
TARGET – Al Horford vs. Roy Hibbert – Never be afraid of stacking bigs against the Lakers. I’m all in on the Hawks bigs tonight.
AVOID – Greg Monroe vs. Andre Drummond – Drummond has been great against opposing Cs. This one should be a great matchup between two old teammates. Drummond is projected as the highest producing C on the day and he will look to shut down Monroe tonight.
Lineup Quick Hits
Superstar Worth Paying For
Anthony Davis ($11,100) – The Brow versus The King tonight, I am loving this one. The Brow has produced 50+ games over his last three. He will be on the big stage tonight as he facing the Kings. If the Pelicans want to stay in the game he will be called upon early and often.
Save Big Bucks by Drafting
Clint Capela ($4,700) – Capela will get the start for Howard tonight and has been playing great basketball. He has a tough matchup tonight, but the usage and minutes will be there. I think he can easily exceed value tonight.
Dud of the Night
Markieff Morris ($5,200) – Markieff is questionable tonight and may sit. If he plays he will have a favorable matchup, but monitor his status to find out if he will play or not.
