Game Flow Notes

Vegas Lines

HIGH O/UWizards vs. Pelicans – Pace and Space anyone? How about absolutely no defense. This game comes in at an o/u of 215.5. John Wall has a dream matchup and I look for this game to be guard heavy for the Wiz. For the Pelicans look no further than Anthony Davis, he has been great since his last injury.

LOW O/UPistons vs. 76ers – 192.5 o/u and a lot of Andre Drummond tonight. This matchup looks great for the Pistons, but shapes up as another loss for the 76ers. I love the idea of a Jackson/Drummond stack tonight.

Pace of Play

HIGH PACEWarriors vs. Celtics – I was very surprised that this game isn’t the highest scoring on the night. It does take the title of fastest pace with a 104.1 projected game pace. I love the Chef Curry and IT2 in this game. It will also be important to check the Warriors injury news as Klay Thompson was dealing with a minor tweak.

LOW PACEBucks vs. Raptors – Bucks, that is all! With a 93.1 projected game pace the Bucks are once again the slowest team of the night. I said it last week and I say it again…what is Coach Kidd trying to do with this team?

Defense vs. Position

Point Guard Matchups

TARGETJohn Wall vs. Jrue Holiday – Wall has been on fire since I bad mouthed him (you’re welcome fantasy players). Tonight he gets an awesome matchup in the highest scoring game of the night. If the Wizards want to win, they have to ride Wall. I am all in tonight.

AVOIDGeorge Hill vs. Goran Dragic – The Heat and Dragic have been great against opposing guards. George Hill has quietly had a good season, but if the Pacers win tonight it is through Paul George. Look for Hill to be on the backburner tonight.

Shooting Guard Matchups

TARGETTyreke Evans vs. Bradley Beal – I say target both of these guys tonight, but I give Evans a slight edge. Both Evans and Beal are scorers. However, Evans does a better job of filling up other categories. I will have lineups with both in them tonight.

AVOIDJordan Clarkson vs. Danny Green – Byron Scott said he is going to dial Kobe back a little. This is great news for Clarkson. What isn’t good news is that the Spurs are ranked first against opposing SGs. I like other options tonight.

Small Forward Matchups

TARGET Marcus Morris vs. Robert Covington – Morris has found his place in Detroit. The 76ers are ranked 29th against opposing SFs. I look for Morris to have a great chance at exceeding value tonight.

AVOIDKobe Bryant vs. Kawhi Leonard- Kobe is on his retirement tour, but has actually been hitting value lately. I am concerned about some recent comments about his minutes. Tonight, I am really concerned about him matching up with the best defensive SF in the league. There are better options than the Mamba tonight.

Power Forward Matchups

TARGETLaMarcus Aldridge vs. Julius Randle – Randle will come off of the bench, but should get a lot of minutes. LMA has been inconsistent at best (due to Popovich), but can exceed value in 20 minutes or less tonight.

AVOIDSerge Ibaka vs. Derrick Favors – Favors is the best defensive PF in the game (Sorry Zbo). Unfortunately for Serge, the scoring runs through Westy and KD. I look for Favors to shut him down tonight.

Center Matchups

TARGETMarcin Gortat vs. Alexis Anjica – The Polish Hammer should be able to lay down the hammer tonight. Gortat will have to play a lot of minutes due to a thin post for the Warriors. He has a great chance at value tonight.

AVOID Jahlil Okafor vs. Andre Drummond – Okafor has gone cold since his early year success. Drummond is the best young C in the league. This matchup has the makings of a massacre.

Lineup Quick Hits

Superstar Worth Paying For

LeBron James ($10,000) – The King should King tonight. I have projected over 55+ fantasy points tonight. Last outing he put up 61 and he has finally figured out that he has to carry his Cavs team on his back.

Save Big Bucks by Drafting

Patty Mills ($3,600) – Mills won’t start, but should get a lot of burn against a Lakers team that will probably be blown out. At $3,600 he needs about 18 DK points to hit value. He has the potential to exceed that tonight.

Dud of the Night

Hassan Whiteside ($6,900) – Whiteside went off in the first half against the Hornets, but a blowout and a tweak put him down. He is questionable tonight with an ankle injury so make sure you check before firing him in a lineup.
