When Larry Nance Jr. was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers with the 27th overall selection in the NBA Draft this past Thursday, everyone knew Larry’s tweet from 2012 was gonna have to be addressed in the very immediate future…

It didn’t take Kobe Bryant long to respond, but, to everyone’s surprise: he was surprisingly cool about it all and didn’t unleash Mamba “Death Stare” Mode on his new teammate.

During a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Jemele Hill on Sturday, Kobe said the tweet and any leftover hostility between the two is “water under the bridge”…

“He actually sent me a great message yesterday, which is really funny. I looked at it, and it was like, ‘This is when you know it’s about time to hang these things up, when your teammate writes you, ‘Hi, Mr. Bryant’ I was like, ‘What the f—?’ But it was really nice and apologetic about what had happened. I said, ‘Dude, listen. We’ve all said things and done things that we regret and wish we could take back. It’s water under the bridge, man. Welcome to the team.’ He writes back, ‘Thank you, sir.’”

Poor Larry Nance. Pretty much a puppy that got caught pooping on the new carpet, and now hopes his droopy-eyed apology will gain him some remorse from his master and spare him a night in the woodshed.

Whether you actually believe him is up to you…but, it appears Nance Jr. is safe from the Mamba…

…for now.
