The New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder competed in one of the better regular season games this year on Tuesday night, with small leads see-sawing back and forth for the duration of the game ultimately leading to a dramatic overtime finish. With Carmelo Anthony on the bench nursing an injury, the chosen one — the “Unicorn” (as Kevin Durant described him before the game) Kristaps Porzingis was left in charge of getting the Knicks home.
He surely did his part, doing Porzingis this:
DID I MENTION PORZINGIS THINGS BECAUSE ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN THIS GAME WENT FROM ZERO TO CAPS LOCK IN A BLINK
Ok, moving on: we watched the first ever layup posterization (???) by Lance Thomas on Steven Adams
Dion Waiters was playing very much like Dion Waiters
And then Porzingis rose from the ashes in attempt to single-handily carry the Knicks to the finish line, stuffing Russ back to the stone age
Looking like Jordan in the clutch
Giving Aaron Afflalo an opportunity to win the game at the buzzer!
But the Durantula was too much
And the Thunder won 128-122 in overtime. A great game, and a valiant effort by the Knicks — but, they came up short — once again. Sigh.
