(Philly Inquirer) – “He killed it,” the source said of the workout. “He was talking about how excited he was about Philly.” Russell’s workout came one day after the Sixers worked out point guard Emmanuel Mudiay. Although the team was impressed with Mudiay, the Sixers would love to draft Russell if he’s still available at pick No. 3. He could become the lead point guard the franchise covets. It also would enable him to reunite with former high school teammate Joel Embiid and play with good friend Nerlens Noel.

Seems like there’s no hype right now about the NBA Draft despite majorly historic teams in the Lottery and a perceivably much stronger draft class than last year. Everyone freaked out about Wiggins being the second coming and Embiid being the next Hakeem and blah blah SUCH A DEEP CLASS. Good job Good effort experts! Obviously there’s no perfect system for predicting the Draft but it does seem like this group has a lot more potential for actual Franchise changing guys.

After Towns/Okafor go off the board there’s a good chance Russell/Mudiay follow suit immediately after. Thankfully for Emmanuel Mudiay, his shameless self promotion is already in full swing aka he’s ready for NYC ASAFP!!!
