Didi Gregorius (shoulder) leaves early after being hit by a pitch; X-rays negative
In his first at-bat of Sunday Night Baseball, Gregorius ($7,600 in single-game Showdown) was hit by a pitch from Clayton Kershaw right around the shoulder blade. It didn't seem to be a big deal at the time, and Didi didn't seem to be hampered taking second on a wild pitch. However, when it was his turn in the third inning, Mike Ford pinch-hit for him and is stayed in at 1B with Gleyber Torres moving to SS and DJ LeMahieu to 2B. Gregorius will finish the game with 2.0 DKFP, and the Yankees are calling the injury a shoulder bruise after X-rays came back negative.
Domingo German outduels Clayton Kershaw in Los Angeles
Even though the Yankees came away with the win, Kershaw ($11,800) was the top-scoring fantasy play. He struck out a season-high 12 hitters en route to 30.75 DKFP. Unfortunately for LA, he was done in by a trio of homers. Aaron Judge ($7,200; 14 DKFP), DJ LeMahieu ($8,400; 19 DKFP) and Mike Ford all took Kershaw deep. Not in the starting lineup, Ford came into the game after Didi Gregorius was forced to leave after being hit by pitch. Ford took advantage of the situation and lead the Yankees with 21 DKFP. In one of his better starts of the season, German ($9,200) scored 20.7 DKFP. Pitching against a loaded Dodgers offense, he limited them to one run across six innings.
