Today’s targets will focus on the two-game slate tonight, featuring the Blue Jays at Texas and Red Sox at Cleveland. Any questions, please find me on Twitter @JasonWalker_72 — let’s do this!
Cole Hamels – TEX vs. TOR -$10,500 – The Jays were only the 12th best wRC+ team this season against LHP and struck out 20% of the time, and that included games in the Rogers Centre. Meanwhile Hamels struck out 22.8% of the RHH he saw in Texas since July 1st, a total that included 162 batters faced.
Rougned Odor (2B) – TEX vs. TOR – $4,000 – TOR SP Estrada has struggled on the road against LHH this entire season, with a 4.90 xFIP and over 1.00 HR/9 IP in split. Odor, since August 1st in split, has a 132 wRC+ and .356 ISO in 91 plate appearances.
Mookie Betts (OF) – BOS at CLE – $5,600 – Great merging of splits here, as CLE SP Bauer has a reverse split of 4.96 xFIP and 1.86 HR/9 IP in his last 125 RHH batters faced. Betts, since August 1st in split (134 PA), has a 158 wRC+ and .406 wOBA.
Josh Donaldson (3B) – TOR at TEX – $4,400 – Hamels has a long ball issue against RHH at home and Donaldson, in 80 PA this season on the road against LHP, has a 163 wRC+ and .354 ISO.
Carlos Santana (1B) – CLE vs. BOS – $4,700 – Cleveland has been great at home against RHP all season, and Santana has been starting it off with his 158 RC+/.303 ISO and .409 wOBA.
Jose Ramirez (3B/OF) – CLE vs. BOS – $4,100 – Ramirez had a strong 153 wRC+ split at home vs. RHP, with a .402 wOBA and 7.8% K-Rate.
Mitch Moreland (1B) – TEX vs. TOR – $2,600 – Texas has the highest implied run total on the slate (4.7) and Moreland has a 40% hard contact rate against RHP at home.
Edwin Encarnacion (1B) – TOR at TEX – $3,900 – The other potent bat to watch against LHP for the Jays is Encarnacion, who has a 145 wRC+/.388 wOBA and .218 ISO in split there.
Mike Napoli (1B) – CLE vs. BOS – $3,600 – Great leverage play as people might run to Santana first, but BOS SP Porcello actually gave up twice the home run rate to RHH away than LHH. Napoli nicely enjoyed a reverse split as well at home, with a 154 WRC+, .321 ISO and .404 wOBA.
Troy Tulowitzki (SS) – TOR at TEX – $3,200 – Very low price for Tulo, who has a 160 wRC+, .258 ISO and .408 wOBA against LHP on the road since June 1st.
