Studs

Jose Quintana – CHW vs. TBR – $9,700 – So solid. 3.67 xFIP at home over the last 30 days, with a 22% K rate. The Rays, over the last seven days, have struck out 29% of the time with only 5.5% walk rate.

Julio Urias – LAD at SDP – $8,700 – For cash games, I like the more expensive Cueto, but for tourney upside, I’m rolling with Urias, who has a 21% K-rate since July 1st against the Padres, who have a 25% K rate and 81 wRC+ over the last seven days.

Values

Alex Reyes – STL vs. CIN – $7,400 – He’s a little volatile with control, but the stuff is there, with a 26.6% K rate over his last 30 days (26 IP). The Reds have an implied total of 3.4 runs as well on the road.

Josh Collmenter – ATL vs. PHI – $5,700 – Collmenter has 42 DK points over his last two starts, and has a 24.5% K rate over that span as well. The Phillies have been above average in wRC+ over the last seven days, but have struck out 23% of the time as well.

Batters

Studs

Randal Grichuk (OF) – STL vs. CIN – $4,400 – In 68 PA against RHP at home since July 1st, Grichuk has a 180 wRC+, .359 ISO and .439 wOBA. Of course, it’s all up to where Mike Matheny chooses to bat him in the lineup, but if he’s second, I think he’s a solid play here.

Jose Bautista (OF) – TOR vs. BAL – $4,500 – Bautista has a 189 wRC/.370 ISO in his last 37 plate appearances against RHP at home while BAL SP Jimenez has a 5.03 xFIP against RHH on the road in the last 30 days.

Mark Trumbo (OF) – BAL at TOR – $4,100 – Trumbo has a .273 ISO against RHP on the road since July 1st (124 PA) with a 44% FB rate going against the extreme (57%) ground ball ways of TOR SP Marcus Stroman.

Edwin Encarnacion (1B) – TOR vs. BAL – $4,600 – See Bautista for Ubaldo’s splits, but Encarnacion, since July 1st against RHP at home: 177 wRC+, .304, .438 wOBA in 139 plate appearances.

Matt Carpenter (2B/3B) – STL vs. CIN – $4,100CIN SP Dan Straily has a 5.49 xFIP and 13% walk rate this season (84.1 IP in split) and Carpenter, over the last 30 days in split: 162 wRC+, .391 ISO, .413 wOBA.

Justin Turner (3B) – LAD at SDP – $4,100 – Turner has a modest 111 wRC+ and a .239 ISO in split here against SDP SP Friedrich, who has a 4.79 xFIP and 1.05 HR/9 IP rate. The Dodgers have a 4.6 implied run total and Turner should be batting third here.

Sean Rodriguez (SS/2B) – PIT vs. CHC – $4,600 – At a high price and a likely awkward 6-slot in lineup, I think Rodriguez makes for a decent tourney consideration. SeanRod has a strong 159 wRC+ here in split, with a .226 ISO.

Tyler Flowers (CATCH) – ATL vs. PHL – $3,700 – Flowers, at home against RHP this season: 155 wRC+, .207 ISO and .406 wOBA. The Braves have an implied total of 4.6 runs tonight and Flowers is sixth in the projected lineup.

Values

Chris Davis (1B) – BAL at TOR – $3,200 – A crazy low price for Davis, who has the same extreme fly ball vs. extreme ground ball matchup as Trumbo v. Stroman, and has a 156 wRC+/.391 ISO in split over the last 30 days.

Ryon Healy (3B) – OAK vs. SEA – $3,700SEA SP Miranda, vs. RHH away from Seattle: 6.42 xFIP, 0.00 K-BB%, 1.65 HR/9 IP. Healy has a solid 121 wRC+ and is third in the projected lineup.

Brandon Moss (1B/OF) – STL vs. CIN – $3,300 – Another high upside, low cost power stick, Moss has a .307 ISO against RHP at home this season. He hasn’t been going great lately, but Dan Straily and that vs. LHH split can give it a jump start.

Brandon Belt (1B) – SFG vs. COL – $3,200 – Belt, at home against RHP over the last 30 days, has a 131 wRC+ and a 15.6% walk rate.

Hunter Renfroe (OF) – SDP vs. LAD – $3,200 – All the power, Renfroe hit 30 homers at AAA before storming into the majors as this year’s September Surprise. Renfroe has four home runs in six games and a 243 wRC+/.588 ISO.

Devon Travis (2B) – TOR vs. BAL – $3,500 – He’s been questionable, so make sure he’s in, but if he is, he’ll be leading off in this plus matchup against Jimenez. Travis has slightly reverse splits, with a 114 wRC+ and .347 wOBA.
