Jake Arrieta (Right) – CHC vs. ARI– $11,100 – Arrieta showed us why he was worth the big bucks during his first start this season. He went 7 innings, struck out 6 batters, and only gave up 2 runs. He started the season with a win and a .43 WHIP. He will be in a tough park today, but he should limit the Diamondbacks’ hitters to minimal production.

Matt Harvey (Right) – NYM vs. PHI – $11,,900 – Harvey had a rough Opening Day against the Royals, giving up 4 runs in 5 innings. He gets an easier matchup against the Phillies today, and will look to build upon his 1.76 WHIP. The Mets are favored to win this game (-115), and I think he will right the ship and be worth the high salary today.

Jose Quintana (Left) – CHW vs. CLE – $8,900 – Quintana comes in at a decent value price. He is purely a spot play, as he has a 5-1 record against the Indians and holds a 2.58 ERA against them. The White Sox have the benefit of playing at home, yet they’re playing as underdogs at +170, which may turn some people off of Jose.

Jimmy Nelson (Right) – MIL vs. HOU – $7,900 – Purely a price pick, Nelson comes into this matchup 0-1, but he limited the hard hitting Giants to 2 runs and posted a WHIP of .82. Obviously, the Astros are a different beast, but I still think we see 5-6 innings and 5 K’s from Jimmy tonight.

Matt Kemp (OF) – SD vs. COL – $5,100 – Kemp will face righty, Chad Bettis today and brings in a situational w-OBA of .315. The Padres will be playing in Colorado, which is a favorable hitters park. In his last outing at Coors, Kemp put up 4 hits, a homer and 4 RBIs. I think we see a lot of the same from him today.

Bryce Harper (OF) – WAS vs. MIA – $5,300 – Harper will cost you, but he has been worth it so far this season posting multiple 20 DKFP games. He has a positive a whopping SLG% of .698, and I don’t think you can go wrong spending up on Harper today.

Charlie Blackmon (OF) – COL vs. SD – $4,800 – Blackmon will get righty Jake Shields today, who is 6-1 lifetime vs the Rockies. This shouldn’t be an issue for Blackmon, who rides a .362 wOBA into the game. Playing in Coors will always put a good hitter on my targets radar.

Andrew McCutchen (OF) – PIT vs. CIN – $5,100 – McCutchen is coming off 2 sub-par fantasy perfomances, but he recorded 10 and 15 DKFP in the 2 games prior. I think he breaks out of his mini-slump today against Reds pitcher, Tim Melville.

Nolan Arenado (3B) – COL vs. SD – $4,900 – Targeting another Colorado guy in a matchup that boasts an 11 run total isn’t a bad idea. Arenado has a .363 wOBA and had a 21 DKFP performance on opening day. A Rockies stack it is!

Carlos Gonzalez (OF) – COL vs. SD – $4,800 – Don’t be mad, but I think you see the trend. There are Rockies everywhere, but the 5.5 projected team total is too nice. CarGo will hit 3rd and has a wOBA of .397. I will have a lot of exposure today.

Wil Myers (1B/OF) SD vs. COL – $4,600 – Well, I have all the hitters from the other team, so it’s only right the Padres get some love. Myers is from my hometown and has been crushing balls since he was in elementary school. He has 9 hits on the season and will likely add to that total today. I love his .196 ISO in this matchup at Coors.

Trevor Story (SS) – COL vs. SD – $4,900 – Story has a SLG% of 1.2 so far this season. 8 hits and 6 HRs so far. Think about that for a second. He already has smashed 6 HRs on the season! He’s clearly seeing the ball better than anyone else in the league right now, so sign me up!

David Peralta (OF) – ARI vs. CHC – $3,500 – I know, I know… You are probably questioning the play of Peralta against one of my top pitchers on the day (Arrieta). However, Peralta has a .401 wOBA and a .266 ISO heading into this matchup. He also has 9 hits so far this season, and he loves hitting against right-handed pitchers. The Diamondbacks are still favored, and I think Peralta is going to have a hand in whatever offense they can muster up against Arrieta.

Jean Segura (SS) – ARI vs. CHC – $3,500 – See Peralta’s write-up for the background here. Segura has a 3 homers and 11 runs so far this season. He has a handedness wOBA of .272 against Arrieta, and the team as a whole are 5th against right-handed pitchers so far. These Diamondback hitters (Peralta and Segura) should be low-owned against Arrieta, as well.

Eduardo Escobar (SS/OF) – MIN vs. KC – $3,100 – Escobar is a switch hitter who gets Edison Volquez tonight. He has registered a hit in every game this season. He carries a .318 wOBA and a .173 ISO into this game, and I have a feeling he will make for a sneaky play this evening.

“I have a feeling he will make for a sneaky play this evening”

Jon Jay (OF) – SD vs. COL – $3,400 – I have to roll out a little more love for the Padres and Rockies game. Jay is a lefty in a great spot tonight. He has a handedness wOBA of .260 and has produced back-to-back 19/20 DKFP performances.

Cory Spangenberg (2B) – SD vs. COL – $3,500 – Spangenberg follows Jon Jay in the order and is also a lefty that can tee off against Bettis. He has a wOBA of .306 and a SLG% of .421. Spangenberg also has back-to-back 20 DKFP performances, which should continue today.

Kolten Wong (2B) – STL vs. ATL – $3,800 – Wong has handedness wOBA of .336 and an ISO of .159. He is coming off of a 3-hit game and will look to replicate that success tonight.

Domingo Santana (OF) – MIL vs. HOU – $3,300 – It is hard for me to suggest a batter against Dallas Keuchel, but Santana has a .414 wOBA against righties. He has had an up and down season so far, but the Brewers are expected to score at least 3 runs and he should play a part in that.

Justin Bour (1B) – MIA vs. WAS – $2,800 – Bour bats 6th and put up a nice 14 DKFP last outing. He has a positive wOBA and ISO against Ross, and he has put up at least a hit in all 3 of his starts this season.
