MLB Headlines – Wednesday, September 30th
-The two pitchers in last night’s perfect lineup were essentially polar opposites. One was high priced, high owned stud Jon Lester ($9600 and 49.7% owned) while the other was low-priced, low-owned surprise Kevin Gausman ($5400 and 0.80% owned).
-It was a strange night for popular picks. Mike Trout and Jon Lester were all 49%+ owned AND in the perfect lineup while the rest of the lineup was under 10% owned. Also, four of the biggest busts of the night were extremely popular plays at over 20% owned (Albert Pujols, Erick Aybar, Bryce Harper and Andrew Cashner).
-Pitching was high value on Wednesday night as 8 different starters were in the Top 20 scorers on DraftKings.-It’s rare that you find value at SS eligible players in the Top 20 scorers, but last night Starlin Castro, Jose Ramirez and Addison Russell were all there.
MLB PERFECT LINEUP
MLB HEADLINES – September 30th, 2015
-Another night where the low-owned value plays surprised in baseball. Nick Tropeano was impressive with 36.6 fantasy points at just $4700 and 2.7% owned. Blake Swihart, Kike Hernandez, Marwin Gonzalez and J.D Martinez were all under 2% owned and in the DK Perfect Lineup.
-Kershaw broke his previous season high for DK fantasy points last night. His 54.06 was the most he’s had all year. His 2nd highest score was also against San Francisco on September 2nd, when he had 50.6 DK FP.
-On the season, Kershaw is now averaging 33.96 DK FPPG against San Francisco.
-Big night for LA. Both pitchers in the DK Perfect Lineup last night were from the city of Los Angeles (along with Dodgers 2B Kike Hernandez)
-It was a rare night in baseball where Catchers had big games at the plate. A.J. Pierzynski and Blake Swihart were both in the Top 5 highest scoring players and Swihart, Pierzynski and Bryan Holaday were the Top 3 value plays on Tuesday night.-Johnny Cueto continues to struggle and has now gone 8 consecutive starts without breaking 20 DraftKings fantasy points. In those 8 starts, he’s only broken 10 fantasy points twice and had another dismal 5.5 FP last night.
