MLB Arcade Mode will bring us a seven-game slate for tonight. If you aren’t familiar with Arcade Mode, you can brush up on all the happenings by going here. Once you’re acclimated with the rules, we can dive into the information for tonight’s slate. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.
Luis Severino – NYY vs. TB – $16,000 – Strikeouts earn you 4.5 points per in Arcade Mode, so a pitcher that owns a 10.1 K/9 facing the team with the highest K% against right-handed pitchers at 26.4% makes a lot of sense, right? Severino faced this Rays team once already and scored what would have been 71.7 DK points if Arcade Mode was around at the time. With Tropicana Field behind him, Severino should once again be able to shut this Rays team down tonight.
Jacob deGrom – NYM vs. LAA – $18,500 – deGrom is the most expensive pitcher on the slate tonight as the takes on the Angels at home. deGrom has pitched well at home in three starts, averaging 46.6 Arcade mode points to go with a .302 wOBA at home and a .369 SLG. The Angels are still a relatively tough team to strikeout, owning just a 20.4 K%, which ranks 21st in the league. With that being said, they’ll be down a hitter tonight as they’ll be forced to have their pitcher hit since this is taking place in a National League park.
J.D. Martinez – DET vs. TEX – $8,000 – To say Martinez is locked in at the plate right now would be an understatement. He’s only played in six games thus far, but he’s already belted five home runs with 11 RBIs while averaging 54.2 Arcade points per game. He’ll certainly come back down to earth, but his favorable matchup against Nick Martinez doesn’t warrant that regression just yet. Martinez has allowed seven home runs in just five starts with five of them coming on the road.
Michael Conforto – NYM vs. LAA – $8,000 – Conforto has hit extremely well at Citi Field this season and will matchup against Ricky Nolasco tonight. Against righties at home, Conforto owns a .417 wOBA with a .415 OBP and a .591 SLG with four of his 10 home runs. Nolasco is certainly no stranger to allowing home runs, as he’s given up 13 on the year.
Adam Duvall – CIN vs. COL – $7,000 – Duvall has mashed lefties all season, so this matchup against Tyler Anderson feels like a no-brainer. On the season, Duvall owns a .478 wOBA against lefties with a .743 SLG. Anderson has been getting smoked on the road to the tune of a .434 wOBA with seven of his 10 home runs allowed.
Bryce Harper – WAS vs. ATL – $10,000 – It’s going to be tricky to get a high priced pitcher and Harper in your lineup tonight, but if you can manage, he’s in a great spot. He’ll take on R.A. Dickey, who has allowed three of his nine home runs at home against lefties with a .326 wOBA. Harper has hit six of his 13 home runs on the road against righties this season to go with his .463 wOBA.
Kendrys Morales – TOR vs. BAL – $6,000 – I try to end every Arcade Mode target article with someone that my normally go overlooked, but I think he has a good chance of producing. Morales is a salary saver at $6,000 who does own some pop. Morales has hit well on the road, producing a .341 wOBA with a .488 SLG and four of his seven home runs. It’s certainly a bit of Hail Mary, but if Morales can crack one off Tillman, it could certainly be at a low ownership.
