MLB Arcade Mode will bring us a nine-game slate tonight. If you aren’t familiar with Arcade Mode, you can brush up on all the happenings by going here. Once you’re acclimated with the rules, we can dive into the information for tonight’s slate. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.

Rick Porcello – BOS vs. TEX – $17,000 – The two most expensive pitchers on this slate (Jon Lester and Johnny Cueto) have a real chance of seeing their game postponed tonight, making them extremely risky. I don’t LOVE Porcello tonight, but with the choices that we have left, he slides in as my top option. He hasn’t been his Cy Young self of last season, but Porcello is averaging 30.3 FPPG at Fenway Park, even with his .353 wOBA. The Rangers haven’t been great on the road and own the sixth-highest K% at 23.9, so the potential is here for Porcello and his 10.1 K/9 at home. Again, I don’t feel great about this pick, but our options could be limited with the impending weather.

German Marquez – COL vs. PHI – $11,500 – Marquez is the owner of some bloated stats, as his numbers in Coors Field are bringing him down. Of his five starts, two have come on the road against the Twins and Diamondbacks, and he’s posted a .258 wOBA, a .333 SLG and a .283 OBP with a K/9 of nine. The Phillies have hit well at home all season, but they were shut down by Jeff Hoffman last night and looked really bad at the plate in the process. Marquez will save you some salary tonight for sure.

Charlie Blackmon – COL vs. PHI –  $10,000 – Blackmon is an option on a nightly basis at this point, averaging 29.7 Arcade Mode points per game. Tonight he’ll take on Zach Eflin, who owns a career .355 wOBA against lefties with a .533 SLG and 12 of his 16 total home runs allowed. Blackmon is very expensive, however, so make sure you have some value bats in mind.

Corey Dickerson – TB vs. LAA – $8,500 – Dickerson has been crushing the ball all season long, especially at Tropicana Field no less. Coming into tonight, Dickerson is averaging 27.4 FPPG in 24 home games with a .418 wOBA against righties with six of his 12 home runs. Matt Shoemaker has given up 10 home runs on the year with six of them on the road.

Andrew Benintendi – BOS vs. TEX – $6,500 – Benintendi is a cheap option tonight at $6,500. He possesses some pop and has stolen some bases as well with five on the year. The Red Sox own the highest projected run total of these nine games at 5.2 runs against Andrew Cashner. If your in need of saving some salary, Benintendi could be a nice way to do so, batting in the heart of the Red Sox lineup.

Matt Holliday – NYY vs. KC – $6,500 – A matchup against Danny Duffy doesn’t exactly excite you, but I’m intrigued with how well Holliday has hit lefties. At Yankee Stadium, Holliday owns a stellar .539 wOBA with a with a .938 SLG with three of his eight total home runs on the year. Duffy hasn’t exactly been dominant on the road, allowing a .327 wOBA to righties with a .350 OBP.

Kole Calhoun – LAA vs. TB – $5,000 – As always, I like to end this article with a hitter you most likely glazed over while constructing your rosters but could be a sneaky Arcade Mode play. Calhoun admittedly does not own impressive numbers, averaging 18.8 FPPG. With that being said, Alex Cobb has struggled against lefties this season, posting a .355 wOBA with a .473 SLG and four of his six home runs allowed. Those numbers get a bit better at Tropicana, but Calhoun at $5,000 is worth a shot if you need to save salary. He’s hit mostly in the two-spot this season but has also seen some time recently in the six hole.
