MLB Arcade Mode will bring us a fantastic, seven-game slate tonight. If you aren’t familiar with Arcade Mode, you can brush up on all the happenings by going here. Once you’re acclimated with the rules, we can dive into the information for tonight’s slate. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.

Chris Archer – TB vs. CWS – $19,000 – Archer is the most expensive pitcher on this slate for good reason, the matchup. The White Sox continue to be one of the worst hitting teams, owning a .294 wOBA with a .388 SLG and a K% of 23.2. Archer has been his best at home, averaging 53.7 FPPG in six starts. On a normal basis, rostering a pitcher that costs $19,000 would make it difficult to build an Arcade Mode roster, but tonight is full of great hitting value.

Chase Anderson – MIL vs. SFG – $11,500 – You’d think after posting 83.1 Arcade Mode points against the Diamondbacks, it would be hard for Anderson to match that type of performance. Well, in his last start against the Mets, Anderson came close, scoring 65.1 fantasy points. Tonight he’s in another favorable matchup against the Giants at home. Anderson has flourished at Miller Park, averaging 36.6 Arcade Mode points with a .289 wOBA and a .374 SLG. The Giants sit with the lowest wOBA against righties in the league at .284 with a 19.4 K%.

Miguel Cabrera – DET vs. LAA –  $7,000 – Cabrera has most certainly come alive as of late, averaging 25.4 FPPG over his last 10 contests. Tonight, he has a very favorable matchup against Jesse Chavez. On the road, Chavez has allowed a .388 wOBA to righties with a .590 SLG and four of his 14 home runs. I like Cabrera over J.D. Martinez because Cabrera could be lower owned, and he’ll save you $2,000 in salary.

Eric Thames – MIL vs. SFG – $8,500 – Thames has arguably been much more effective away from Miller Park, but I can’t pass over his matchup with Matt Cain. Lefties on the road have been hitting him extremely hard, as he’s giving up a .428 wOBA in those matchups with a .537 SLG and two of his six home runs allowed.

Matt Holliday – NYY vs. BOS – $8,000 – Holliday has been slaying lefties this season, so his matchup with Drew Pomeranz intrigues me. Pomeranz has been mostly effective on the road this season, but Yankee Stadium isn’t exactly a park boost for him. Holliday at home against lefties is sporting a .443 wOBA with a .727 SLG with three of his 12 home runs.

Mookie Betts – BOS vs. NYY – $8,000 – On the Red Sox side, Betts has been doing a little bit of it all lately but has seen a dip in salary. At only $8,000 tonight, Betts has averaged 24.1 Arcade Mode points over his last 10 games with three doubles, two home runs and two stolen bases. Masahiro Tanaka is allowing a .440 wOBA to righties at home this year with five of his 14 home runs allowed.

Martin Maldonado – LAA vs. DET – $4,500 – Time for my punt play of the night! It belongs to Martin Maldonado. He’s averaging just 16.5 Arcade Mode points, which isn’t overly impressive, but I love his numbers against lefties. Against lefties, Maldonado is posting a .475 wOBA with a .576 SLG and one of his four home runs. He’ll likely go overlooked, so he’s a sneaky play tonight that can hopefully grab you some points.
