WATCH: ARCADE MODE IMPACT PLAYER – JOSE RAMIREZ
MLB Arcade Mode will bring us a huge eight-game slate tonight. Let’s dive into the information for tonight’s slate. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.
Stephen Strasburg – WAS vs. CHC – $18,500 – Strasburg is someone I’m not overly confident in tonight, but he faces a Cubs team that owns the lowest projected run total at 3.3 runs. Strasburg is coming off one of his worst performances of the season against the Reds, as they tagged him for five runs on eight hits in just five innings of work. To be fair, Strasburg has been his best on the road this season, posting a .257 wOBA with a .317 SLG and a 9.9 K/9.
Trevor Bauer – CLE vs. TEX – $11,500 – Rostering Trevor Bauer certainly can make you feel a bit uneasy with how inconsistent he is. However, when playing Arcade Mode, Bauer against the Rangers is a matchup I’m strongly considering. Entering this game, the Rangers currently own the highest K% on the road at 27.6%. Bauer, for all his inconsistencies, does own a 10.2 K/9 on the season and an even better 10.8 at home. His price tag at $11,500 is friendly enough that you can still fit some major bats into your lineups.
Bryce Harper – WAS vs. CHC – $10,000 – Picking on John Lackey on DraftKings seems to have become a hobby of mine this season. As he heads into a matchup with the Nationals, Lackey is sporting a .334 wOBA against lefties with a .444 SLG with five of his 21 home runs allowed. As you’d expect, Harper is raking in these matchups, owning a .461 wOBA and a .673 SLG against righties at home.
Justin Smoak – TOR vs. BAL – $8,500 – The switch-hitting first baseman for the Blue Jays has a fantastic matchup ahead as he’ll face off against Wade Miley. Right-handed batters have given Miley the most trouble, as he owns a .378 wOBA against them on the road with a .500 SLG with six of his 10 home runs allowed. In limited plate appearances, Smoak is crushing lefties at home, posting a .524 wOBA with a .778 SLG.
Wilmer Flores – NYM vs. MIA – $6,000 – Flores is matched up against a left-handed pitcher, so you know what that means! Flores continues to rake in these matchups. On the road against lefties, Flores is posting a .424 wOBA with a .629 SLG. Miami doesn’t have the most favorable ballpark for hitters, but Flores at $6K is just too cheap for me to pass up.
Dustin Pedroia – BOS vs. MIN – $6,000 – Pedroia is another cheap option that has excelled against lefties at Fenway his entire career. I looked up the numbers and was honestly blown away. In 895 career plate appearances at home against lefties, Pedroia is posting a .411 wOBA with a .953 OPS and a .425 OBP. For $6K against a weak starting pitcher in Adalberto Mejia, I will certainly take a long look at Pedroia.
Miguel Sano – MIN vs. BOS – $8,500 – Rick Porcello hasn’t exactly been pitching like the reigning Cy Young winner, so I’m big fan of grabbing Sano this evening. Porcello is allowing a .379 wOBA at home against righties with a .534 SLG and four of his 16 home runs allowed. Sano has been crushing on the road and sports a .453 wOBA against righties with 10 of his 18 home runs allowed.
I am a promoter at DraftKings and am also an avid fan and user (my username is Steveazors) and may sometimes play on my personal account in the games that I offer advice on. Although I have expressed my personal view on the games and strategies above, they do not necessarily reflect the view(s) of DraftKings and I may also deploy different players and strategies than what I recommend above.
