MLB Arcade Mode will bring us a short, three-game slate tonight. If you aren’t familiar with Arcade Mode, you can brush up on all the happenings by going here. Once you’re acclimated with the rules, we can dive into the information for tonight’s slate. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.

Pitchers

Zack Greinke – ARI vs. MIA – $20,000 – Greinke is the top pitcher tonight by default, as the depth tonight is extremely thin. He’ll take on a Marlins club that doesn’t hit very well at home, posting a .311 wOBA with a .318 OBP and a .405 SLG. Greinke has been better at home than he has on the road, but unless you’re going for the next pitcher I’ll talk about, you’re certainly taking on some risk. On the road, Greinke is averaging 31.8 Arcade Mode points, which is a far cry from his 51.3 at home.

Eduardo Rodriguez – BOS vs. BAL – $13,000 – Rodriguez is a huge discount from Greinke, saving you $7,000. His matchup is a decent one with a high strikeout potential. Rodriguez has faced this Orioles club once already at Camden Yards and came away with 58.5 Arcade Mode points, allowing no runs on just one hit, but did own a 7:5 K:BB ratio. The Orioles will strikeout as evidenced by their 24.4 K% against lefties, which ranks the fifth highest in the league. It’s not the best matchup on this slate, but again, the options are so limited.

Hitters

Mookie Betts – BOS vs. BAL – $9,500 – Betts tops our list as one of two players that will run you $9,500 tonight. Realistically, he’s only in play if you aren’t on Greinke, as taking the two leaves you with just over $5,100 to fill out the rest of your roster. He’s taking on a struggling Wade Miley, who’s averaging just 14.7 Arcade Mode points over his last four starts. Betts has hit eight of his nine home runs on the road this season, and Camden Yards is certainly a friendly spot to add to that total.

Kevin Pillar – TOR vs. NYY – $6,000 – Pillar is almost a must, in my opinion, tonight with the combination of his price and his matchup. He’s been smashing lefties all season and especially at home. In those matchups, Pillar is sporting a .559 wOBA with .920 SLG and a .483 OBP. With those type of numbers and just a $6,000 salary, you have to feel the love here.

Kendrys Morales – TOR vs. NYY – $8,500 – Morales has seen his salary slowly creep up as of late, thanks in part to his 30.4 Arcade Mode points over his last 10 contests. In that span, Morales has hit three home runs, knocked in seven runs and scored nine runs. With the Blue Jays’ lineup back to full strength, Morales has been getting plenty of protection. Overall, Morales owns a .328 wOBA against lefties with a .341 OBP.

Christian Yelich – MIA vs. ARI – $6,500 – If you’re not going with Greinke tonight, Yelich could be a player to consider. He’s averaging 24.8 Arcade Mode points at home this season and owns a .342 wOBA against righties with a .379 OBP. Yelich will occasionally steal you a base and has some pop as well. He’ll most likely be low owned, which could give you an advantage if he has even a decent game tonight.
