MLB Arcade Mode will bring us an eight-game slate tonight. If you aren’t familiar with Arcade Mode, you can brush up on all the happenings by going here. Once you’re acclimated with the rules, we can dive into the information for tonight’s slate. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.

Pitchers

Clayton Kershaw – LAD vs. CLE – $20,000 – As you’d imagine, Kershaw is one of the top options at pitcher tonight as he’s set to face off against the Indians. The problem here is his salary. At $20,000, he’s the most expensive pitcher on this slate and would leave you an average of $6,000 per hitter to fill out the rest of your lineup. It’s not impossible, but it certainly is challenging. Nonetheless, Kershaw is averaging 54.7 Arcade Mode points over his last 10 starts with a 79:13 K:BB ratio in that span. The Indians are projected at 3.6 runs, which is one of the lowest on this slate.

Tyler Chatwood – COL vs. PIT – $13,500 – If you’re looking to go cheap at pitcher tonight, Chatwood may just be your guy. On the road, he’s been a completely different pitcher, naturally, as Coors Field certainly doesn’t do him any favors. In seven road starts, Chatwood is averaging 42.1 Arcade Mode points with a .264 wOBA and a .348 SLG. The Pirates have been hitting the ball better as of late, but Chatwood is cheap enough that I’d be willing to take a shot.

Hitters

Charlie Blackmon – COL vs. PIT –  $11,500 – Blackmon is the most expensive hitter on this slate, but why shouldn’t he be? Averaging a whopping 40 Arcade Mode points over his last 10 games, Blackmon will matchup against Gerrit Cole tonight. Cole continues to have issues with left-handed bats, allowing a .385 wOBA to them with a .598 SLG and 10 of his 15 total home runs allowed. Blackmon could see low ownership tonight because of his price tag and names like Kershaw taking the hill.

Bryce Harper – WAS vs. ATL – $9,000 – Harper still feels too cheap in my opinion, as $9,000 doesn’t justify his upside. Believe me, no complaints here, but he’s in yet another favorable matchup tonight. He’ll square off against R.A. Dickey at home, where Harper owns a .494 wOBA against righties with a .763 SLG with nine of his 16 home runs.

Justin Upton – DET vs. ARI – $7,000 – I really like Upton tonight despite his matchup with Zack Greinke. The matchup alone could scare people off, but we can roster someone who is averaging 42.4 Arcade Mode points over his last 10 games AND has good numbers against Greinke. Upton is 10-27 against Greinke with three doubles, two home runs and a .452 OBP. I’ll happily put up the $7K for the production Upton has been giving.

Khris Davis – OAK vs. MIA – $8,000 – Playing at Marlins Park doesn’t scare me off him tonight, as he’s blasted nine of his 17 home runs in Oakland this season. Jose Urena has been hit hard by righties all season, allowing a .391 wOBA against them with seven of his nine home runs and a .573 SLG. Davis is always a threat to go deep and is averaging 32 Arcade Mode points over his last ten games.

Wilmer Flores – NYM vs. CHC – $6,500 – Flores is someone I’m looking to target anytime he’s facing a left-handed pitcher, even if it’s Jon Lester. To be honest, Lester has hardly looked like himself lately, and he’s been buried on the road almost all season. It’s been so bad on the road for Lester; he’s averaging only 16.2 Arcade Mode points in five road starts with six of his nine home runs allowed. Flores has been crushing lefties to the tune of a .443 wOBA with a .647 SLG.
