This article will cover the eight-game Arcade Mode slate starting at 7:05 PM EST tonight, so let’s get right to it. As always, you can reach me on the ol’ Twitter machine @SBuchanan24.
Jacob deGrom – NYM vs. MIA – $19,500 – deGrom is the most expensive pitcher on this slate, with a matchup against the Rockies. This game does have some weather issues (check back closer to game start), but if the game plays, deGrom should be a popular pick. On the road, the Rockies own just a .299 wOBA with a .313 OBP, a .379 SLG and a 23.7 K%. deGrom has been his best at home, posting a .269 wOBA with a .333 SLG and an 11.2 K/9.
Dan Straily – MIA vs. LAD – $13,000 – Straily is an interesting target tonight against the Dodgers. The matchup certainly isn’t a favorable one, but Straily has the strikeout potential to be a sneaky play on this eight-game slate. Straily owns a .260 wOBA at Marlins Park with a .322 SLG and an 8.7 K/9. The Dodgers certainly hit well on the road, posting a .326 wOBA, but also own a relatively high 22.6 K%. At $13K, Straily leaves you plenty of room to fill out your roster, with an average of $7,400 for each remaining roster spot.
Adam Duvall – CIN vs. WAS – $7,500 – Duvall is relatively cheap tonight with a favorable matchup on tap. At $7,500, Duvall brings his .480 wOBA at home against lefties with a .778 SLG and a .400 OBP. He faces Gio Gonzalez, who has allowed all 14 of his home runs against righties with eight of them coming on the road. For as good as Gonzalez has been, righties have given him trouble on the road with a .328 wOBA and a .452 SLG.
Freddie Freeman – ATL vs. ARI – $9,000 – It’s no secret that Freeman has been crushing right-handed pitching, especially at SunTrust Park. Heading into tonight, Freeman is sporting a .521 wOBA in these matchups with a .744 SLG and a .547 OBP. He takes on Taijuan Walker, who’s allowing a .337 wOBA to lefties with a .436 SLG with five of his seven home runs allowed.
Paul Goldschmidt – ARI vs. ATL – $11,000 – Fitting Goldy into your lineup tonight is certainly going to be a challenge, but the case can be made for his selection. He takes on R.A. Dickey tonight, who is allowing a .345 wOBA and .455 SLG to righties. Against righties, Goldy is posting a .449 wOBA with a .643 SLG and a .440 OBP.
Ian Happ – CHC vs. BAL – $7,500 – I’m not convinced that Gausman is turning his season around, and I think the Cubs will get to him tonight. At home, Gausman is posting a .341 wOBA against lefties with a .400 SLG and a .373 OBP. Happ has been raking on the road against righties, owning a .368 wOBA with a .563 SLG with five of his 13 home runs.
Hanley Ramirez – BOS vs. NYY – $6,000 – Ramirez is someone that will likely be left on the board tonight, but I think he deserves a look, especially if you’re trying to save some salary. Last season, Ramirez crushed left-handed pitching, ending with a .453 wOBA and a .677 SLG. So far this season, it’s been almost the polar opposite, as Ramirez has struggled against lefties. However, over the past month, he’s turned it around, posting a .471 wOBA with a .462 OBP and a .727 SLG. At just $6,000, Ramirez is a cheap but sneaky option.
