Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy baseball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the night before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for tonight, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
…annnnd we’re back!
Cracking 200 on a Friday night after a horrible, horrible slump was a great way to kick off the weekend.
Didn’t get a chance to play Saturday (read: too hungover) but also cashed a little on Sunday.
Much lower score but scores were down all around yesterday so added a little bit more to the bank roll. Just feels good to see that green status bar on the DK app again.
Let’s build on the momentum for this week:
–Jacob DeGrom is your easy top guy of the night. Well, easy on paper I mean. Who knows what we’ll get in real life against those pesky Phillies. deGrom should be 70%+ owned tonight but fade this matchup at your own risk.
-At first I thought Iwakuma was priced way too high, then I saw his production recently. Yeah I know about the no-no obviously, but all his other starts have been absolutely money as well. deGrom is the safer play for an ace but don’t overlook Hishashi.
-For your mid range guys…I’m a big fan of Teheran tonight, pitching at home against the Rockies who just got basically shut down by a guy making his first start.
–Samardzija will end up with either 35 points or negative points. No in between. Depends how lucky I’m feeling if I trot him out there.
1B Joey Votto $5.6K
Unless you’re pairing up DeGrom and Iwakuma (which isn’t a bad idea at all), you’re going to have some extra money to spend with this slate of pitchers all coming in pretty cheap. My top spend-up option is Joey Votto – the Reds are the top offense to target tonight and Votto is their best player. Got a great matchup with Buck Farmer who I’m still not sure that’s a real name.
OF Brett Gardner $4.7K
I had Gardner as the first guy I wrote up in this blog when I started it this afternoon. Then I saw this tweet.
Birthday? Plus a blessing from Taffer? BUY! BUY! BUY!
Checking in right behind the Reds in offenses you want to target tonight are the Yankees. Gardner was on a little bit of a slump for a while there, but he’s back to being hot and dropping off double digit points on a nightly basis. It’s between him and Ellsbury (or both if you want) but I have a hard time playing Jacoby because he has sooo many duds.
OF Ender Inciarte $3.4K
A lot of people will look long and hard at CarGo tonight – one of the hottest home run hitters in baseball checking in at 3.9K is pretty crazy. But my experience this season has taught me any time I jump for a guy that seems too good to be true like that, it usually is. Instead I’m going to look at Ender Inciarte in the Dbacks game…don’t think I’ve ever rostered the dude before, but he’s been red hot hitting at the top of the order. Lance Lynn is a pretty good pitcher, but at 3.4K I like the possible upside here.
