Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy baseball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the night before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for tonight, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.
I need this week to be over. Contemplating not even playing tonight. I’m that cold.
Can’t even describe how depressing it is pulling up the DraftKings app and seeing my little arrow allllllll the way at the bottom of the status bar. Just a long block of gray not even near sniffing the money.
Not even going to go over my picks yesterday. Don’t even remember who they were. Oh yeah Coghlan did well! Hey remember I picked him? Ha ha I’m a genius
casually forgets to mention the other 3 guys
Let’s finish the week off strong.
–Sale is the obvious top dog. Just depends if you want to spend up for him. Matching him up with that new Phillies dude and crossing your fingers could pay off for you in a GPP.
-Gotta love what MadBum has been doing lately for your lineups – but taking him away from his home field against the Pirates for this price point isn’t the safest bet in the world.
–David Price against the ice cold Angels? Gotta take a long hard look at that.
-You can never be totally confident rostering them, but you can’t beat the upsides of King Felix and Tanaka tonight.
-Mid range guys I could possibly like – Bassit, Brett Anderson, Jimmy Nelson, Verlander
OF Bryce Harper $5.2K
The guy has to hit a fucking home run at some point. He’s hit double digit points in 3 straight, but no homers at Coors, which was shocking to say the least. Think he jacks one tonight – Milwaukee is one of the best places to hit (-just a little fact I wanted to toss in, has no bearing on this because the game is in DC (whoops)), and Jimmy Nelson is definitely solid, but it’s not like he’s going to toss a perfect game.
1B Lucas Duda $5K
Coors game! Another series at Coors kicks off tonight which means it’s time to load up. Only problem is it’s still tough to fully trust the Mets offense, and their prices are wayyyy way up. If I had to pick the best spots to target a Mets hitter it’s gotta be the Grandy Man leading off and Duda hitting cleanup. Murphy, Cespedes, maybe even Flores are some places to look for sure, but narrowing it down to one, I think Duda has the best shot at going deep and putting up a 20 spot.
The fact that Duda doesn’t have a home run on his current 10 game Game-Log and has been pretty miserable since his injury makes me feel even better about this play – I’ve been so cold that I think only taking cold players will turn my luck around.
SS Jose Reyes $4.7K
On the other side at Coors I love the spot for Reyes. Tolo has been great this season but it’s not like he has ace stuff that can power you throw a matchup at Coors Field. There should be plenty of runs to go around, and Reyes should be all over the base paths in this one.
OF Khris Davis $3.5K
Just a gut play here – guy crushes lefties. Milwaukee is a good place to hit. (-again – just wanted to let you know). Why not take a shot at double homer upside for 3.5K.
