KMarko HR

Welcome back to the daily DraftKings picks where we try to get super rich playing daily fantasy baseball. As usual I’ll do a brief recap of my lineups from the night before then throw out some picks that I’m brainstorming for tonight, and hopefully get some good feedback/tips/picks from you guys either in the comment section or on Twitter @kmarkobarstool.

Tale of two slates yesterday…

Day games? Not too shabby. Little bit of cash.

KMarko 1

Night games? HAHA.

KMarko 2

70 points. Holy hell that’s embarrassing.

Blog picks: Trout – blah. Zimmerman – eh. Tulo – blah. Werth – hey we got somethin!

Also I had been on a pretty good roll with pitchers lately. Being really confident in a Lester gem then watching him immediately give up 7 runs in 2 minutes and end up with negative points kind of put a damper on that.

Let’s rebound tonight.

Pitcher Notes

Is it just me or is pitching becoming more and more impossible every night?

-Tonight your top guys are Archer and Arrietta. Neither safe enough for their price tags. I would definitely lean Archer because of the huge strikeout upside, and the fact Arrietta hasn’t been sharp lately. But, the Braves can’t really hit, so that’s probably a bonus.

-Right after those guys is Max Scherzer who everyone will be scared off of because of Coors. But I kind of like him. I said I like Strasburg at Coors last night and he went out and looked great – Scherzer is even better. Could be a sneaky play here, but not without risk.

Patrick Corbin was a possible guy I had in mind today but that 9.3K price tag AT the Reds is pretty crazy.

-I like McHugh and Quintana in the mid range tier, and Tropeano and Tomlin are high risk guys to consider in value play territory.

C/OF Kyle Schwarber $4.9K

Schwarrbooooooooo. Everybody who has been following the picks know my love affair with the guy. Unfortunately the days are long gone that we can slot him in as an automatic value play every night with a price jump bordering on 5K. Priced right up there with the superstars of the game. Ever think you’d see the day Kyle Schwarber was more expensive than Mike Trout? But he’s just been that good, and could not have a better matchup tonight. Cubs lefties are a sneaky good stack, and I actually kind of like how high the price is on Schwarber – hopefully will scare people off him not wanting to spend the money.

3B/SS Xander Bogaerts $4.2K

Anyone catch what Bogaerts has been doing to lefties this season? Short answer – crushing them. The Red Sox just banged around Corey Kluber last night which has gotta make you feel confident about their prospects against Danny Duffy tonight. They’re a top 3 offense to target on the board, and Xander is pretty cheap for his upside.

Value Plays

OF Jayson Werth $3.7K

Playing Jayson Werth for the 3rd straight night. Why wouldn’t I? He’s leading off against a terrible pitcher at Coors Field and they refuse to raise his price despite very solid games back to back nights. Sometimes it’s just basic common sense.

2B/OF Chris Coghlan $3.4K

See: everything I said about Cubs lefties on the Schwarber write up. Now add in another guy who is 1) on fire 2) qualifying at 2 positions and 3) coming in at only 3.4K and you got yourself an incredible high upside low risk value play.
