Fantasy Baseball Stacks: Top Offenses to Target for August 9

It’s important to note that you should always keep an eye on the news and lineup notes from @DKLive in order to best tackle each slate. In addition, feel free to get at me on Twitter with any questions — @JulianEdlow.

With just six games Thursday evening, here are a few fantasy baseball stacks to consider for the MLB main slate:

1. NEW YORK YANKEES

The Yankees return home from a tough road trip, and maybe some home cooking is exactly what they need. Expectations are high with a 5.8 run projection, but the matchup against Rangers RHP Ariel Jurado ($4,200) is ripe for the picking. These bats just remain too cheap for what they’re capable of, even with some of the major power hitters still out of the lineup. This offense is due for some outbursts, so why not at home against a pitcher with just over 15 innings of big league experience?

Players to Consider

Giancarlo Stanton ($5,100)
Didi Gregorius ($4,900)
Aaron Hicks ($4,800)
Brett Gardner ($4,400)
Gleyber Torres ($4,300)
Miguel Andujar ($4,300)

2. BOSTON RED SOX

While LHP Ryan Borucki ($5,500) is off to a really strong start to his career for the Blue Jays, I’m a much bigger believer in Boston’s offense than this kid’s arm. Not only have the Sox found a way to hang 10 runs on the board on consecutive nights in Toronto, but they slammed Borucki for seven runs in just three innings last month. Mookie Betts ($5,900) went 2-for-2 against him with a wild pair of triples. I’m trusting this lineup in nearly any situation right now, and the 5.4 run projection backs that up.

Players to Consider

Mookie Betts ($5,900)
J.D. Martinez ($5,600)
Andrew Benintendi ($4,700)
Steve Pearce ($4,300)
Xander Bogaerts ($4,200)
Eduardo Nunez ($3,400)

3. LOS ANGELES DODGERS

Oh yeah, we’ve also got a game at Coors Field on the slate! The visiting Dodgers have reconstructed their lineup by adding some quality RHBs over the trade deadline, which should really help them against LHPs. Tyler Anderson ($5,900) takes the mound for the Rockies, having allowed 15 of his 21 home runs to RHBs. While Anderson shockingly has been able to post a lower ERA at home versus the road, I’ll take this talented Dodgers lineup to find a way to exceed its 5.6 run projection.

Players to Consider

Brian Dozier ($5,500)
Manny Machado ($5,400)
Yasiel Puig ($5,300)
Justin Turner ($4,700)
Enrique Hernandez ($4,300)
Matt Kemp ($4,200)
