A three-game MLS Soccer Sunday slate kicks off at 5pm ET on ESPN. Let’s jump right into my top targets to take you to the top of your DraftKings contests. With all the crazy squad rotation this time of year, be very wary of injuries and suspensions. I will be posting starting lineups on Twitter (@DraftKicks) as they become available – usually an hour before kickoff.

Donovan Ricketts – $5,400 – Los Angeles Galaxy – The Galaxy were pummeled in Salt Lake last weekend, and will be desperate for a bounce back. A Western Conference showdown at home with FC Dallas could be just what the doctor ordered.

Stefan Frei – $4,500 – Seattle Sounders – Frei is second in the league in saves (100) and had a monster 26 point outing last weekend at Vancouver. He’s in a good spot against a Kansas City team that could be looking ahead to the U.S. Open Cup Final on Wednesday.

Others to Consider – David Bingham  (San Jose Earthquakes; $4,900), Tim Melia/Jon Kempin (Sporting KC; $4,800)

Tyrone Mears – $5,200 – Seattle Sounders – Mears played a big role in the Sounders convincing win at Vancouver last weekend – posting 9 DK points behind 3 crosses and a clean sheet. He’s been a reliable source of crossing points all year.

Michel – $3,500 – FC Dallas – Anytime Michel is included in the Dallas starting eleven i’m quick to include him in my squad. He has high upside thanks to his involvement on set pieces and penalty kicks, hence his 28-point outburst just two games ago.

Jordan Allen – $3,800 – Real Salt Lake – Allen has started for RSL in consecutive games now, and is priced low enough to be in consideration even on the road. We saw what he’s capable of earlier in the season, and now that he’s seeing consistent playing time he’s a target on a short slate.

Others to Consider – Omar Gonzalez (LA Galaxy; $4,900), Marcel De Jong (Sporting KC; $3,900), Chad Marshall (Seattle Sounders; $3,600)

Javier Morales – $9,500 – Real Salt Lake – Morales is a man on fire, with three goals and two assists over his last four games. He’s a near lock for double-digit points if you can find the room for him on your roster.

Steven Gerrard – $8,200 – LA Galaxy – The Liverpool legend has produced “pedestrian” fantasy numbers over the last month, but i’m eying him today based on his price and lack of options at the position. His floor has been between 7-9 points, but he has 20+ point upside. I’ll have some exposure to Gerrard with only three games to pick midfielders from.

Matias Perez Garcia – $7,300 – San Jose Earthquakes – Like Gerrard, MPG hasn’t done much on the fantasy front lately. Other than Morales there simply aren’t many standout midfielders to target. Garcia is worth a look as he sparks the SJ attack and

Others to Consider – Marco Pappa (Seattle Sounders; $6,600), Shea Salinas (San Jose Earthquakes; $6,400), Graham Zusi (Sporting KC; $6,900)

Robbie Keane – $11,300 – LA Galaxy – He hasn’t scored in four games but he’s still the top forward option on the Sunday slate. The reigning MVP is worth targeting regardless of matchup, boasting hat-trick upside every time he touches the field.

Chris Wondolowski – $9,500 – San Jose Earthquakes – Wondo has a goal in consecutive outings and will continue to carry the load as the Quakes make a late-season playoff push. He’s been much more active in the attack lately, notching three shots in seven straight games.

Clint Dempsey – $10,100 – Seattle Sounders – Big Deuce showed up with a pair of assists in Vancouver last weekend. It’s pick your poison with him and strike partner Obafemi Martins, but I lean slightly towards Dempsey due to his involvement on set pieces and PKs.

Others to Consider – Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders; $10,400), Giovani Dos Santos (LA Galaxy; $9,600), Fabian Castillo (FC Dalls; $9,300)

Sebastian Lletget – $7,600 – LA Galaxy – He’s been quiet in his last three games, but playing amongst a handful of world superstars Lletget will see his fair share of chances. He’s a little pricier than i’d like, but I do think he’s capable of paying off his salary.

Juan Maneul Martinez – $5,400 – Real Salt Lake – “Burrito” has a goal and assist in his last two games and still comes at a nice discount. He’s becoming more involved in the RSL attack and can contribute across multiple attacking categories.
