A four-game MLS Soccer Sunday slate kicks off at 2pm ET and wraps up with a massive game out West with the Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy squaring off. It’s important to know what’s at stake for each team with just two regular season games to go. As always, I will be posting starting lineups on Twitter (@DraftKicks) as they become available – usually an hour before kickoff. Best of luck today!

Sunday’s Contests

$1.5K MLS Striker – $3 entry

$1K MLS Equalizer – $27 entry

Goalkeeper

Stefan Frei – $4,600 – Seattle Sounders – Frei has 14 saves and 38 points in his last two road games. He’ll have to be up to the task again today to keep Seattle’s playoff hopes alive.

Luis Robles – $5,500 – New York Red Bulls – The Red Bulls are big favorites at home as they are still in the hunt for the Supporters’ Shield (regular season champion) and are up against a Philadelphia Union squad with nothing to play for. With the other games too close to call, i’ll pay up for the closest “sure thing” to a win in Robles.

Others to Consider – Bill Hamid (D.C. United; $5,000), Tyler Deric (Houston Dynamo; $4,700), Donovan Ricketts (LA Galaxy; $5,100)

Defender

Kemar Lawrence – $4,800 – New York Red Bulls – Lawrence has been a spark out of the back, supplying four assists on the season. He will have ample opportunity to add to that total today swinging in balls to Bradley Wright-Phillips.

Tyrone Mears – $5,400 – Seattle Sounders On a slate short of high volume crossing defenders, Mears is worth a look considering Seattle will need to be on the front-foot from the get-go. He’s had 9 crosses over his last three games.

Taylor Kemp – $5,700 – D.C. United Kemp whipped in 5 crosses in his last outing and will look to do more of the same today as D.C. United jockey for playoff positioning.

Others to Consider –  Alvas Powell (Portland Timbers; $5,300), Sean Franklin (D.C. United; $4,000), DaMarcus Beasley (Houston Dynamo; $4,900)

Midfielder

Sacha Kljestan – $9,500 – New York Red Bulls – Kljestan has at least a goal or an assist in eight straight games at home. He’ll look to continue his hot second half in a favorable match against the Union today.

Diego Valeri – $10,000 – Portland Timbers – The Argentine has 8 shots and 8 crosses in his last two games. That’s 16 points without a goal or an assist. He has big upside contributing across the board.

Steven Gerrard – $8,200 – LA Galaxy – The Liverpool legend scored a goal and put up 21 points the last time he played at home. He’s been finding his shot, firing off 9 in his last two games. Look for Gerrard to play a part in tonight’s big Western Conference showdown.

Others to Consider – Brad Davis (Houston Dynamo; $8,200), Lloyd Sam (New York Red Bulls; $8,800), Harry Shipp (Chicago Fire; $6,500)

Forward

Bradley Wright-Phillips – $12,200 – New York Red Bulls – The reigning MLS Golden Boot winner hasn’t scored in two games but has a really favorable matchup today against Philly. New York must win to keep their playoff hope alive and should be looking for BWP early and often.

Robbie Keane – $11,500 – LA Galaxy – Keano has 2 goals, 1 assist and 36 DraftKings points in his last two games. Any time he’s on the board he’s a top option as he has hat-trick upside regardless of the matchup.

Fabian Espindola – $9,800 – D.C. United – Espindola went off for 28 points in his last outing – bagging a goal on 8 shots. He should see more opportunities to rack up points against a Chicago Fire team that has nothing left to play for.

Others to Consider – Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders; $8,700), Obafemi Martins (Seattle Sounders; $6,700), Fanendo Adi (Portland Timbers; $7,800)

Flex Appeal

Marco Pappa – $6,600 – Seattle Sounders – The Guatemalan has seen limited playing time lately but tallied an assist and 10 points in just 24 minutes in his last game. Seattle will need all hands on deck in order to stay alive for the playoffs and I think we’ll see Pappa back in the Starting XI.

Gilberto – $7,500 – Chicago Fire – The Brazilian has come alive with three goals on 18 shots in his last three games.
