A pair of nationally televised games are on tap for Viernes de Fútbol, with expansion teams Orlando City and New York City FC kicking things off (7pm ET, UniMas). Both games are of major importance as the 2015 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs take shape. There are several suspensions and injuries to be mindful of, so watch for starting lineups on Twitter (@DraftKicks) as they become available – usually an hour before kickoff. Best of luck this weekend!
Tally Hall – $4,900 – Orlando City – Both home teams playing tonight are in a must-win spot. With just two games to choose from, and no real goalkeeper that jumps out, i’ll have the most exposure to players who have more to play for at this juncture. Hall is a big reason why Orlando still has a glimmer of hope to make the playoffs, reeling off four straight wins to keep them in the hunt.
David Bingham – $4,700 – San Jose Earthquakes – Bingham has allowed just one goal in the Quakes’ last two games, collecting 20 DraftKings points along the way. He’ll be leaned on to keep San Jose alive tonight in a crucial Western Conference match against Sporting KC.
Others to Consider – Tim Melia (Sporting KC; $3,800), Josh Saunders (New York City FC; $4,400)
Luke Boden – $4,200 – Orlando City – With Brek Shea suspended, Boden will man the left side of the Orlando backline. He’s usually good for 2-3 crosses but with so much at stake i’m looking at him to have an even bigger role in the attack tonight.
Angelino – $4,600 – New York City FC – The defender position is tricky tonight. There are several injuries and suspensions to factor in, so it’s still unclear who will start for each team. Angelino has seen some playing time higher up the field as a midfielder recently, and if that’s the case tonight i’ll be rostering him with a lack of better options.
Shaun Francis – $4,700 – San Jose Earthquakes – As noted above, there simply aren’t any standouts at defender tonight. With that being said, I may stack the home defenses as they are both playing for a playoff spot and have a higher probability of posting a clean sheet. Francis has been known to float up the wing and swing a cross or two in and the Quakes have a good chance at keeping SKC off the scoresheet with their backs against the wall.
Others to Consider – Corey Ashe (Orlando City SC; $3,700), Amadou Dia (Sporting KC; $3,900), Victor Bernardez (San Jose Earthquakes; $4,000)
Matias Perez Garcia – $7,300 – San Jose Earthquakes – MPG returns from suspension, after seeing red for pulling off his jersey celebrating his game-winning goal against Salt Lake two games ago. He put up 20 points and has that kind of upside tonight in a game where he will have to create if San Jose wish to keep their season alive.
Frank Lampard – $6,400 – New York City FC – The Chelsea legend has four straight 12+ point games behind three goals on 14 shots. Lampard has also drawn 9 fouls over that stretch and is still relatively cheap on DK.
Graham Zusi – $7,000 – Sporting KC – While Feilhaber might be the popular play, his teammate Graham Zusi has three straight double-digit games. Zusi is putting up big crossing numbers, swinging in 21 crosses over those three games.
Others to Consider – Benny Feilhaber (Sporting KC; $9,500), Shea Salinas (San Jose Earthquakes; $6,700 ), Lewis Neal (Orlando City; $4,400)
Chris Wondolowski – $9,600 – San Jose Earthquakes – A productive second half of the 2015 season has seen Wondo shoot to #5 in the Golden Boot standings. He has come alive with four goals and double-digit DraftKings points in five of his last six games.
David Villa – $12,500 – New York City – Villa is the highest priced forward on the board but has double-digit points in three straight behind back-to-back five shot performances.
Cyle Larin – $8,800 – Orlando City – The rookie sensation has 50 DraftKings points on four goals in his last two games! In a must-win game look for Larin to lead the way.
Others to Consider – Dom Dwyer (Sporting KC; $9,400), Krisztian Nemeth (Sporting KC; $8,500)
Carlos Rivas – $5,500 – Orlando City SC -With Kaka suspended, Rivas will need to do more of the heavy lifting for an Orlando City team that is desperate for a result. He’s usually in the $5500-6000 range and contributes to multiple DraftKings scoring categories regardless of if he scores or assists.
Quincy Amarikwa – $7,800 – San Jose Earthquakes – The Quakes are desperate for a result and I expect them to be on the front-foot for most of the match. Amarikwa is a dangerous forward in and around the box and should see some opportunities tonight.
