With DraftKings now the official daily fantasy soccer destination for Major League Soccer, a five-game night slate is on the board for Saturday. The party starts at 7:30PM EST when the Columbus Crew host Toronto FC. There are still a handful of key players away as the Gold Cup concludes, along with some random suspensions and noteworthy injuries to keep in mind. Keep an eye out for starting lineups as they are released — I will be posting starting lineups on Twitter (@DraftKicks) as they become available — usually an hour before kickoff. Here are the players I am targeting tonight:

Saturday’s Contests

$2K MLS Striker – $3 entry

Goalkeeper

Evan Bush – $4,500 – Montreal Impact – Though he put up a goose egg last week, Bush is back at home where he posted 20 DraftKings points in his last outing. Tonight Bush gets a Sounders attack that, without Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins, has been held scoreless in two straight.

Dan Kennedy – $5,600 – FC Dallas  – Kennedy and FC Dallas stayed hot, picking up their fourth win in as many tries last weekend. The FCD goalkeeper has double-digit points in four straight, and is worth finding room for with so many hit-or-miss goalkeepers on the board tonight.

Others to Consider – Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire; $4,000), Brad Knighton (New England Revolution; $3,000), Tyler Deric (Houston Dynamo; $3,500)

Defender

Chris Tierney – $5,800 – New England Revolution Tierney continues to have a role in the Revs attack, with another 5-cross performance last weekend. The versatile left-back has a high upside thanks to his involvement on corner kicks and free kicks.

Waylon Francis – $4,600 – Columbus Crew – Francis sprayed five crosses into the box in a 3-1 win over the Fire last weekend, connecting with Kei Kamara for an assist on his way to a big 15 point night. With what could turn into a back-and-forth game against Toronto FC, I like Francis’ chances to pickup another handful of points just from crosses alone.

Lovel Palmer – $3,500 – Chicago Fire – The athletic outside back has 4+ crosses in back-t0-back games, and looks to be more involved in the attack over the last couple of games. With a home game against a Revolution team that has been outscored 7-1 in their last two road games, Palmer is worth a long look at just $3,500.

Others to Consider – Ambroise Oyongo (Montreal Impact; $4,200), Joevin Jones (Chicago Fire; $4,200), Tyrone Mears (Seattle Sounders; $5,800)

Midfielder

Mauro Diaz – $8,900 – FC Dallas – Though he was kept off the scoresheet for the first time in four games last time out, the FCD string-puller still managed to post a 16 point DK day. Diaz is showing no signs of slowing down, with 15+ DraftKings points in four straight.

Federico Higuain – $9,000 – Columbus Crew – Higuain bagged a PK goal last weekend, earning 15 DraftKings points along the way. The Argentine has been finding himself in good spots, and has a great matchup against a Toronto FC squad that will be without Michael Bradley for at least one more game.

Steven Gerrard – $8,400 – LA Galaxy – Stevie G burst onto the MLS scene with one goal and one assist in a come from behind 5-2 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes. Gerrard logged 88 minutes in his debut, and looked right at home with Robbie Keane and company.

Others to Consider – Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution; $8,400), Ignacio Piatti (Montreal Impact; $8,500), Ethan Finlay (Columbus Crew; $8,500)

Forward

Sebastian Giovinco – $11,600 – Toronto FC – It’s a battle of the Golden Boot frontrunners with Giovinco squaring off against Kei Kamara this evening. Giovinco leads the league in both shots (106) and shots on goal (44), and has seven or more shots in four of his last five games. The diminutive Italian is labeled “Questionable” with a heel injury, but I am expecting him to go – making him once again the top player on the board.

Kei Kamara – $10,500 – Columbus Crew – Kamara added to his league leading 14 goals, finding net in consecutive games against the Chicago Fire last week. I anticipate goals in this game, with Giovinco and Kamara both eager to stake their claim on the Golden Boot.

Robbie Keane – $11,000 – LA Galaxy  – The Irishman has a hat-trick in back-to-back games and looks to be back in top form after missing a healthy portion of the first half of the season. Keane has 32+ points in three of his last four, and tonight faces a Houston defense that has conceded at least two goals in four of their last five games.

Others to Consider – Fabian Castillo (FC Dallas; $10,600), Dominic Oduro (Montreal Impact; $6,400), Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC, $7,300)

Flex Appeal

Sebastian Lletget – $6,000 – LA Galaxy – The midseason addition is on an amazing run of form, with a goal in five of his last six games. He’s playing amongst some top talent in Gerrard and Keane, which I believe only helps his case to continue to produce in the Galaxy attack.

David Accam – $4,500 – Chicago Fire – Accam has seen limited minutes in his recent return from injury, but at just $4,500 is simply too cheap to be ignored. He has 19+ points in the last three games he’s seen significant action in. I’m expecting him to start this evening, making him a great target to free up some much needed cap space.
