UPDATED INFORMATION IN BOLD.
Since Draftkings has blessed us with MLS leagues and since I have an uncontrollable urge to gush about the potential and future of MLS; I have no choice but to write this column. So…KEEP. READING.
Tonight you have a two match slate that is very interesting with a number of leagues available on Draftkings.
Chicago Fire v. New York City Football Club – 8 pm EST
With New York City FC making its league debut this season, there isn’t history to go on between these two clubs. however, David Villa is the current goal scorer for Blues; HOWEVER Villa may miss the match tonight with a hamstring injury. I would give some thought to Midfielder Mix Diskerud or perhaps Forward Patrick Mullins. Mix has taken 6 shots so far this year and Mullins has only one goal this year, but seven shots, so these two options could get more chances tonight IF Villa sits. Take his with some salt as the Chicago Fire are right in the middle of the pack on virtually all statistics taken thus far. Chicago is ranked 6th with New York City FC ranked 7th on the Eastern Conference MLS table. In short, this one looks to be a possible break out match for both teams.
And now the other side of the pillow.
Colorado Rapids v. FC Dallas – 10 pm EST
With the Rapids scrapping the bottom of the barrel of the Western Conference after seven weeks of the season the only advantage I see in this match could be home field for the Rapids. But alas, the Rapids have their only win of the season thus far against…wait for it…FC Dallas. Keep an eye out for Blas Perez because he leads FC Dallas with four goals this season. Other notable goal scorers include: FC Dallas Forward Fabian Castillo (3), and Rapids Forward Gabriel Torres (2). This matchup could be a goal scoring bonanza!Till next time, look both ways before crossing the street and follow me @Deepdfspicks.
