CS:GO top targets

The playoffs of the Road to Rio competition continues on Thursday with G2 facing Heretics and NiP going up against Vitality in DraftKings’ late slate. We look at some players that might be vital additions to your roster.

Set your lineups here: CS:GO $30K Clutch [$10K to 1st] (ESL RTR Late)

Captain

Zywoo ($14,400)
Despite Maka’s incredulous form, I’d still stick with Zywoo as my Captain. First, Heretics will face a tough opponent in G2. Secondly, Zywoo has showcased his ability as one of the most potent offensive players in CS:GO over a much longer, sustained period of time. He has dominated the AWP, and is coming into this game on the back of a solid 42-37 K-D performance against Godsent in Vitality’s previous game.

Other to consider: Maka ($15,300)

High-priced flex options

Maka ($10,200)
Maka is the highest-priced player in a slate that includes three other teams ranked higher than Heretics. That is a statement of Maka’s form and fluency in this tournament. He helped Heretics raze past North in their previous game with 61 kills and just 34 deaths. His K-D of +27 and ADR of 102.6 were easily the best among both teams. He should definitely fill at least one flex position if not Captain.

KennyS ($8,800)
G2 just didn’t have enough left in the tank to challenge the world’s best CS:GO team on Wednesday, eventually losing 2-0 to Astralis. KennyS has been arguably their most consistent player over the last few weeks in this RtR tournament. He struggled as well, putting up 29 kills and 37 deaths. Heretics is no Astralis, so KennyS should enjoy that difference in skill.

Hunter ($7,600)
Hunter has regained his offensive rhythm in the last few games. He led G2 against Astralis with 34 kills. His K-D of -6 was the highest for G2 as well. Hunter’s importance comes from two factors. One, he is incredibly skilled from an attacking perspective. Two, this price is quite attractive for that level of skill. This is also a strong offensive stacking play from G2.

Other to consider: Nivera ($7,800)

Value flex options

Plopski ($7,200)
Ninjas in Pyjamas was on the brink of victory but somehow their game against Faze slipped through. Plopski can still take plenty of spirit from that game. He led NiP with a sensational 86 kills with 71 deaths. His K-D of +15 was also the highest among both teams. He even had an ADR of 80.7 and a game-high KAST of 71%. His price has reduced again, making him so valuable.

Shox ($6,800)
Shox has played primarily under the gigantic shadow of Zywoo in this Vitality team. There are not many players in CS:GO that can match Zywoo. Shox has maintained solid returns, not looking to stay abreast with Zywoo. From a fantasy perspective, his return on investment has been extremely high. Against Godsent, he led Vitality with 42 kills and 30 deaths, which also included a 1v2 clutch win.

Others to consider: Lucky ($6,800), Nexa ($7,000)
