Mike Reilly ($11,000): Reilly is coming off a massive game against the Stamps where he threw for over 400 yards but ultimately came up short of the win. To make things better though, he and the Eskimos get the Roughriders this week, the weakest team in the league. In two games against Saskatchewan already this year, Reilly has averaged over 30 DraftKings points. He’d be my choice to anchor any cash game lineups, another big week here seems likely here.
Matt Nichols ($6,800): I’ll again turn to Nichols as a completely viable option at quarterback simply due to price. Nichols has played quite well since becoming starter and could be forced into more passing than normal this week with the injury to Andrew Harris. He’s now cracked 20 DK points in consecutive weeks and gets an Argos team who will be without their starting QB. The price alone makes him a viable option in all formats.
Duron Carter ($8,700): Carter returned last week and resumed his role as the main target in the Alouettes offense. Hamilton are definitely the favorites in this week’s game with Montreal, but even if they do get up big that could mean plenty of targets for Carter. It’s also encouraging that Hamilton has allowed some big games to other team’s number 1 receivers recently, and that makes Carter a nice discount off the top plays at his position.
Naaman Roosevelt ($8,500): Roosevelt has really started to pay off for people who’ve been sticking with him all season. Easily the best receiver on Saskatchewan, Roosevelt has now put up 76 total DK points in his last three games, and that’s with only scoring one TD during that span as well. The Eskimos are predictably huge favorites this week, but expect Roosevelt to see plenty of targets regardless. Game Flow and potential PPR points should give him a great shot at another big game here.
Quincy McDuffie ($5,400): For the third week in a row, McDuffie makes my list at WR. He’s still returning some kicks and still has a consistent role in the offense at WR. Coming off his massive game two weeks ago McDuffie only caught 5 passes for under 30 yards last week, but his price is still very affordable for someone with a dual role. Look to him for savings at wide out and a player who should get you those safe return points.
Jerome Messam ($8,300): With Andrew Harris hurt, Messam is the clear top dog at RB this week for fantasy in my opinion. The Stampeders lead back has now scored four TDs over his last three games and is averaging four receptions over his last four games as well. With the Stampeders playing such good football of late and being big favorites again versus Ottawa, expect Messam to get another decent workload here. He would need a big game to pay off his salary, but for tournaments, he might be worth a shot as he could outscore the other backs in play this week by a significant margin.
Tyrell Sutton ($5,900): Sutton returned from injury a few weeks ago and reclaimed his role as lead back for the Alouettes. While the big yardage totals haven’t been there for him all season, he’s playing on almost every snap and has averaged four catches over his last four games. With that type of floor and a price under $6k, he’s hard to ignore at RB and a great target for any lineup this week at a volatile position in the CFL.
Pascal Lochard ($2,500): Lochard will fill-in and be the lead back for Winnipeg if Andrew Harris doesn’t play this week (his status is in question currently). If Harris doesn’t go, Lochard would gain instant value as his price is only $2.500. and he’s playing on a team currently favored by nearly a TD which bodes well for his usage. Check the news updates, but if Harris sits, feel free to roll Lochard at RB or FLEX this week, even if he only gets a few points the savings will be worth it in my opinion.
Stampeders ($4,600): Calgary is putting together an impressive season thus far and is coming off back-to-back wins against a good Edmonton team. This week they get a RedBlacks team who have lost 4 of 6 games and haven’t scored more than 23 points in a game since mid-July. At only $4,600 and with this game being played in Calgary, the Stampeders are the clear top choice and value for me at defense this week.
