The League of Legends European Championship returns as an online event after a brief hiatus due to the coronavirus. We take a close look at some selections from Friday’s five-game slate.

The thumb rule for captaincy in LoL is to pick from ADCs or mid laners. The reason is that they are the most potent options to accumulate kills and assists. There are always exceptions to that, particularly for junglers. In this slate, though, that isn’t the case. Perkz will make a solid captain here. He is averaging 4.5 kills so far, second highest in the entire split. That has aided his lofty KDA of 5.16.
Other to consider: Rekkles ($12,300)
For a top laner to be averaging 3.36 kills is quite an astounding achievement. Fnatic has relied upon his aggression and Bwipo has duly delivered. He has a KDA of 3.33, built on a KDA average of 3.36/2.57/5.21. He is averaging 22.5 DKFP per game this split, which is high enough considering his role.
Other to consider: Wunder ($7,000)
Origen have enjoyed an impressive season to date, with a 10-4 record. Xerxe’s consistency has had a lot to do with that. He is averaging 21.9 DKFP per game, which is third best among junglers in this slate, but he is also significantly cheaper than those above him. Led by steady all-around numbers of 2.93 kills, 1.79 deaths and 5.71 assists, he has racked up a solid split KDA average of 4.84.
Other to consider: Jankos ($7,600)
As a strategy, it’s always worth splurging a bit extra on a mid laner. Led by Febiven’s offensive prowess, Misfits have managed to stay in the top half, with a 9-5 split record. Febiven’s 3.71 kills puts him ninth in the Spring Split. He is easily Misfits’ most potent aggressive weapon. That puts him in a strong position to capitalize against Schalke 04, who are struggling with a 3-11 record.
Leaving Caps ($8,400) is always a tricky choice to make. However, Rekkles has been in sensational form for Fnatic this split. He has the highest KDA in the entire split, which is currently at 8.76. His 5.5 kills per game is comfortably the highest in the season, which makes him a must-have in your team. His selection is additionally compelling because of his low deaths rate of 1.21 per game.
Other to consider: Caps ($8,400)
Normally, it’s a wise strategy to look for budget support picks. However, Mikyx’s form is hard to argue against. He is comfortably leading the rest of the split in terms of fantasy points, currently averaging 27.3 DKFP per game. Next on that list is Kaiser ($5,800, 19.1 DKFP). Overall, he is averaging 11.71 assists per game, easily the highest for any player in the LEC.
Here is where you could save some of your average salary remaining. Misfits have a 9-5 season record, fourth in the LEC. However, the major reason for picking Misfits is the apparent lack of any form or fluency of their upcoming opponents, Schalke 04 (3-11 for the season). Considering the difference in confidence, it’s hard to see any other result than a rout in Misfits’ favor.
