Sergio Aguero

We break down some of the picks to consider in a five-game EPL slate on Saturday, including a crucial game between Leicester and Manchester City.

Sergio Aguero ($9,700), Leicester City v Manchester City)
Aguero has missed the majority of the season through various injuries. Despite that, he is the second-highest goal-scorer this season with 16 goals. He is a scoring machine, pouncing on any opportunity inside the box. That doesn’t just happen; he has the acumen to put himself in advantageous positions through years of experience. Leicester will prove to be a tough road opponent, but Aguero should make a valuable contribution.

Jamie Vardy ($7,000), Leicester City v Manchester City)
Vardy is the EPL’s highest goal-scorer this season, with 17 goals. He has been one of the major reasons for Leicester’s ascent up to second on the points table. Leicester prefers a rapid tempo, which is evidenced by their 54 goals in 26 matches, higher than two goals a game. Vardy’s proficiency in front of goal has a lot to do with that prowess.

Other to consider: Danny Ings ($9,100)

Kevin De Bruyne ($10,800), Leicester City v Manchester City)
De Bruyne has been the stand-out performer this season across teams. He has made substantial contributions in almost every game after his return from injury. He is, by far, the EPL’s most-accurate passer. He already has 16 assists this season, easily the highest. He has also scored eight goals, some of them spectacular and others composed finishes.

Jordan Ayew ($6,400), Crystal Palace v Newcastle United)
Leading Crystal Palace from the front, Ayew has been the pivotal focal point of his team’s offense this season. He has had help from various avenues, but his six goals have helped Crystal Palace maintain a solid position on the points table. However, Crystal Palace will be growing increasingly desperate after losing three straight games in the lead-up to this fixture. They will be leaning on Ayew to chip in again.

Other to consider: John Fleck ($6,600)

Ricardo Pereira ($5,000), Leicester City v Manchester City)
Pereira has aggregated the highest points on average for any defender available for selection in this slate. He has averaged 10.8 DKFP per game this season. His price is relatively low because of Leicester City’s upcoming opponents. Manchester City have scored 67 goals this season, highest for any team in the top flight of English football. That gives you an opportunity to capitalize on his price for this particular slate.

Lewis Dunk ($3,500), Sheffield United v Brighton and Hove Albion)
Dunk might be a useful pick in this slate for two reasons. One, he is an aggressive defender, often venturing into the opponent’s final third for set-pieces. That gives him an opportunity to contribute with assists and even goals. Two, Sheffield United aren’t a particularly offense-oriented team. They have scored just 28 goals this season, lowest for any team in the top 12. They prefer controlled football, which gives Brighton and Dunk an opportunity to keep a clean sheet.

Dean Henderson ($5,300), Sheffield United v Brighton and Hove Albion)
Sheffield United have conceded just 24 goals this season, second-lowest after league leaders Liverpool. They are a defense-centric team, keeping and perfecting their shape before venturing forward. Henderson has averaged 7.3 DKFP per game for this reason. Against Brighton, who are lingering at 15th on the EPL table, Henderson should keep a clean sheet.
