The weekend is nearly upon us as you are most likely sitting at your work desk, staring at the clock and trying to figure out who you are going to use tonight. We get an interesting 4 game slate as we have some pretty impressive game totals being projected and some excellent Guards to consider. Value plays are going to be the key to our Friday night as the stud Guards are expensive, but worth it. Let’s take a look at who we should be considering and as always, hit me up on Twitter (@Razzle11Grinds) with any questions you may have!
A.J. English, Iona ($10,600) vs Manhattan – It’s pretty rare to be able to say this, but using English can save us $1.3K while having a similar upside to Felder. Felder is obviously an elite CBB play, however on a 4 game slate, I think you need to save where you can and that is why I have English here even though he scored just 24.5 points the last time these two teams met. This game is expected to be the second highest scoring game of the night.
Paris Bass, Detroit ($9,900) vs Oakland – Bass has gone for 45+ in five straight games for Detroit and now he gets to play in a game that is projected to put up 180+ points. Detroit definitely gets a nice tempo boost in this one and while it is on the road, I do not expect that to keep Detroit from scoring points and keeping up with Oakland in this one.
Micah Seaborn, Monmouth ($6,500) vs Rider – Seaborn has really upped his usage with the loss of Deon Jones to injury and he is coming off of a 38 fantasy point performance his last time out. Seaborn went for 25.5 the last time these two teams met, which was prior to the Jones injury. Monmouth is expected to put up around 80 points tonight and for the first time in awhile they aren’t the highest projected scoring team on the slate.
Other Options – Kahlil Felder ($11,900), Justin Robinson ($8,900), Isaiah Williams ($7,200), Keith Carter ($6,500)
Carlton Brundidge, Detroit ($5,500) vs Oakland – I think it is safe to say that Brundidge is going to be the most popular play of the slate as he is severely under priced compared to his recent production as he has gone for 29+ fantasy points in four out of his last five games. He offers us a double-double upside while having made 14 of 23 shots over his last two games. I am locking him into every lineup I am making at this point.
Nick Daniels, Oakland ($5,000) vs Detroit – Daniels has GPP upside for us as he has gone for 35 fantasy points in two of his last four games. Daniels does offer us a pretty low floor, which is what makes him a GPP play as this game is expected to see a TON of points put up and Daniels offers us a pretty cheap way to get exposure.
Austin Tilghman, Monmouth ($4,200) vs Rider – With all of the top priced plays out there we need to find some value and Tilghman offers us that along with a 25 fantasy point upside as he has picked up a few extra minutes since Jones’ injury. He has put up 46 fantasy points over his last two games and should be in a solid spot again tonight.
Other Options – Martez Walker ($5,500), Je’Lon Hornbeak ($5,000), Jimmie Taylor ($4,900), Shane Hammink ($4,500), Josh McFolley ($3,900), Khalil Alford ($3,800)
Alec Peters, Valparaiso ($8,200) vs UW-Milwaukee – Peters might end up being a contrarian option as most are going to look to spend up at the G position with all of the top options over there. Peters is coming off of a 51.25 fantasy point performance that saw him put up a 32 and 11 double-double. Peters has managed a double-double in three straight games and gets a nice tempo boost in this one.
Jalen Hayes, Oakland ($7,800) vs Detroit – I love Hayes tonight as Detroit has nobody that will keep him off of the boards and he could put up a monster double-double for us. I think he is extremely safe and should be able to get us 32+ fantasy points in this one and I think I am going to go out on a limb and say that he gets us 40+ tonight.
Other Options – Shane Richards ($7,000), Vashil Fernandez ($6,100), Kahlil Thomas ($6,000), Jordan Washington ($6,000)
Aaron Rountree, Iona ($5,700) vs Manhattan – I really like Rountree’s upside as he contributes so well across the board and brings energy to the floor as soon as he steps on the court. Rountree has gone for 88 fantasy points over his last three games .
Xavier Lundy, Rider ($5,300) vs Monmouth – Lundy has gone for 21+ fantasy points in 6 straight games. I think Lundy is going to be extremely popular thanks to the combination of his price point, his floor and his consistency. Lundy has averaged 32 minutes over the last two games, so his minutes are trending upwards.
Calvin Crawford, Manhattan ($5,000) vs Iona – Crawford has put up some impressive games over his last ten and as long as he is able to stay out of foul trouble, he offers us a pretty impressive upside at his price point. He has four 32+ fantasy point performances over his last six games. Manhattan will see a tempo boost in this one and Crawford may be the key to your GPP success.
Other Options – Percy Gibson ($5,900), Jaleel Hogan ($5,300), Austin Arians ($5,100), Jubril Adekoya ($4,100)
