Welcome to Wednesday everybody! I hope you all managed to make it through what, to me, was an ugly Tuesday night of basketball as there were so many big name CBB players who came out and laid a dud on us. Was a pretty heartbreaking night as I started out with a pretty solid lineup in the March Mania Q only to have it fall apart. Hopefully you guys were able to pull some wins out last night! Let’s take a look at who we should be targeting from tonight’s 12 game slate. As always, hit me up on twitter (@Razzle11Grinds)!
Wade Baldwin IV ($7,800) – Baldwin is coming off of a 46 fantasy point performance while taking just 10 shots from the field. He played 38 minutes and ended up fouling out so that tells you that he is over the injury he recently dealt with. Baldwin has triple-double upside and Vandy should be able to dominate this game against an under-manned Missouri squad.
Nic Moore ($7,600) – Moore is always somebody that flies under the radar as he just always goes about his business in a quiet manner and when you check the box score out at the end of the game you are kind of surprised with his final line. Moore has shot the ball extremely well from three over the last 3 games as he has gone 12 for 26 over that span.
Jalen Jones ($7,300) – Jones has struggled over the last two games, however I think this is a great bounce back spot for him as he is now priced lower than his teammate, House, is. I expect to see him get back to his attacking self in this one and I think he finishes with a 20+ and 10+ double-double in a game that could see Alabama without Hale.
Zak Irvin ($6,700) – Irvin gets to face a Minnesota squad that he went for 41.75 fantasy points against in January and should be in an excellent spot to excel again tonight. Irvin is capable of approaching triple-double type numbers and I would not be shocked if he is this game’s leading rebounder when all is said and done. Looks like Irvin’s teammate, LeVert, is still extremely questionable so Irvin and Walton should continue to be the top options for the Wolverines.
Other Options – Monte Morris ($9,000), Sindarius Thornwell ($7,600), James Woodard ($7,500), Derrick Walton Jr. ($7,400), Wesley Iwundu ($6,800), Nate Mason ($6,600)
Codi Miller-McIntyre ($5,800) – I used quite a bit of CMM the last time out and he responded with a 29.5 fantasy point performance against Florida St. CMM has been extremely inconsistent this season so make sure he finds his way into your GPP lineups only. The match-up is pretty solid for the WF offense in this one and with GT expected to score 80+ in this game, they are going to need CMM, Crawford and Thomas to really step it up.
Haanif Cheatham ($5,500) – How can you not like a guy who has “HAM” in his name when it comes to DFS purposes? Cheatham is coming off of a 28 fantasy point performance in which he looked like the only Marquette player trying to win the game late against Xavier. He went for 27 fantasy points the last time these two teams squared off.
Pat Birt ($5,300) – Birt’s price continues to rise, however he just continues to put up fantasy points. At some point Birt is going to get to where he isn’t playable, but that point is not at just $5300 as he takes on a tough SMU squad. Birt is shooting the ball extremely well as he has been on a scoring binge over the last month.
Glynn Watson Jr. ($4,800) – Shavon Shields has been ruled out due to a concussion so Nebraska is going to need a couple of guys to step up if they want to pull off the upset in Madison. Watson put up 28.25 fantasy points in the last game and could certainly be asked to do a lot more for this team. This game has one of the lowest totals, however there should be some value to be found on the Nebraska side.
Other Options – Shake Milton ($5,900), Adam Smith ($5,700), Riley Norris ($5,500), Terrence Phillips ($5,300), Dupree McBrayer ($4,700), Barry Brown ($4,500), Nick Fuller ($3,200)
Devin Thomas ($8,900) – With Thomas I am trying to predict a bust out game as he has been in a slight lull of late, but we know he is capable of putting up a 50+ fantasy point performance. I think this is a great match-up for Wake even though they are projected to lose by double digits.
Taurean Prince ($7,800) – I can’t seem to get Prince right so I am just going to start recommending him every slate as he gets to take on a K-State team that he went for 42.25 fantasy points against in January. We know Prince is capable of monster games and he is actually $100 cheaper than Gathers is for this game.
Damian Jones ($7,600) – I am back on Jones after he fouled out against Mississippi in just 17 minutes the last game. Prior to that dud of a performance, Jones had gone for 37+ fantasy points in three straight games. This game screams of a bounce back as Missouri should not be able to handle him on the inside and he should own the glass. I would not be shocked to see another 25 and 10 double-double out of Jones tonight.
Marquese Chriss ($6,800) – Chriss has the makings of a future star at the CBB level as he has been playing extremely well, minus his ability to foul out. His foul rate is through the roof which is really scary given the match-up against a big Utah team. He fouled out the last time these two met, but he did managed to put up 33 fantasy points while playing 31 minutes in that game. Chriss has shot over 50% from the field in 8 straight games for the Huskies.
Other Options – Henry Ellenson ($9,200), Ben Bentil ($8,500), Shaq Goodwin ($8,000), Ethan Happ ($7,600), Michael Carrera ($7,500), Luke Kornet ($7,200)
Johnathan Motley ($5,400) – This seems like a great spot for Motley to appear from his mediocre play of late and go off for 30+ fantasy points. The Baylor big men should have their way with the interior of the Wildcats in this one. Motley went for nearly 40 fantasy points the last time these two teams met.
Aaron Ross ($5,200) – Ross has been playing better than Gray has for Texas Tech so that is why he gets the call over Gray here. I like both guys for similar reasons in this one as ISU is going to have to go a bit smaller without McKay and that really takes away a big time defensive presence in the middle. We know both Ross and Gray offer us a 35-40 fantasy point upside.
Jimmie Taylor ($4,500) – I always have my eye on Taylor as he is capable of getting us around 7x at this price point and should Hale miss this game I think Taylor makes a very strong option at this price point. Taylor is coming off of a 29.25 fantasy point performance without Hale in the lineup and that could be the case again tonight.
Vitto Brown ($4,400) – Vitto has turned it around a little bit after really struggling with Greg Gard taking over for the Badgers. He seemed to have lost confidence for a bit, but now appears to be stepping up to help out Nigel Hayes a bit. I wish he would get around 25 minutes as I think he would be in a great spot for 20+ in this game. Brown’s shooting has definitely turned around and as a Badger fan, it is about damn time!
Other Options – Nick Jacobs ($5,900), Justin Gray ($5,300), D.J. Johnson ($4,800), Jeff Roberson ($4,800), Michael Jacobson ($3,800), Ed Morrow Jr. ($3,500)
