Welcome to December everybody and I hope you all had a very happy and safe Thanksgiving! I apologize to you guys for falling ill for what has felt like a month. I am still battling the illness, however I would say I feel a ton better compared to how I have felt over the last week or so. With that said, let’s take a look at who we need to be considering tonight!
Anthony Barber ($8,300) – Barber has not shot the ball very well so far this season however he has more than made up for it in the fact that he has taken 71 free throws over his last 5 games. He is averaging 6.7 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game and has flirted with a triple double on a couple of occasions.
Monte Morris ($7,800) – Morris plays in the game that should be the biggest blowout while it also offers us the second highest over/under of the night. Morris flirted with a triple double his last time out and has gone for over 40 fantasy points in 3 of 5 games to start the season.
Justin Jackson ($7,400) – Jackson looked rough early on in the season as he was coming off of an illness that really set him back. Jackson looks like the stud UNC was expecting to see after he grew rapidly last season. Some people might believe that Paige’s return could hinder Jackson tonight and while I can understand that being the case, generally rust is an issue and when a star is rusty, you generally look to another star to pick it up.
Melo Trimble ($8,100) – Trimble hasn’t been that “superstar” that I would have expected him to be so far this season, however I know from last year that he loves to step up in big time games and that is certainly tonight as Maryland takes on UNC in the game with the highest over/under. This game is going to have a ton of runs and Trimble is one of those players that can go on a run all by himself.
Other Options – Marcus Paige ($7,600), Caris LeVert ($8,000), Bryant McIntosh ($7,500)
Seth Allen ($5,000) – Allen’s minutes have been all over the map, however he has hoisted up 9+ shots in 5 of the 6 games this season and is not afraid to fire away from deep. He’s an active player in a game that could be a sneaky high total game as both teams have the ability to get hot from deep.
Trey Davis ($4,500) – In order to win a GPP you have to take a shot on a guy, and that somebody could certainly be Trey Davis tonight. His price has come up since early on however at just 4.5K he is still pretty cheap compared to what he has shown for his ceiling. He certainly is not a cash game play, however I will take his minutes played and see if he is able to go off for 40+ fantasy points for the second time this season.
Cody Martin ($4,400) – Martin has played a couple of really solid games in a row and I like to see him continue that tonight. He showed us two games ago what he is capable of doing with minutes and while I do not think he sees 37 minutes tonight, I think he could end up with 25+ again and with those minutes he should be able to get us 20+ fantasy points.
Other Options – Scottie Lindsey ($3,800), Malik Clements ($3,700), Mikal Bridges ($3,400)
Terry Allen ($8,600) – Allen is coming off of a couple of monster double-doubles and while this match-up is a bit tougher, I think Allen is in for a huge season. He is probably my favorite play of the night as Richmond seems to be a legit team right now.
Zach LeDay ($7,900) – LeDay has 4 big double doubles already this season and should be able to control the inside in this one. This game could a sneaky game to target for DFS purposes and I would not blame you for doing so.
Jameel McKay ($8,100) – If you have read my articles over the last year, you will know that I have a man crush on McKay. The guy is a physical freak and is capable of monster double doubles to go along with a number of blocks and steals. NDSU should not be able to stop him on the inside tonight.
Isaiah Miles ($7,300) – Miles has shown us a nearly 50 point fantasy upside so far this season and St. Joe’s is going to need him to be at his best tonight against Villanova. If this game was @ Villanova then I would be ignoring it, however with Miles being able to play at home I think he could put up an impressive line.
Other Options – Michael Young ($7,600), D. Finney-Smith ($8,000), Brice Johnson ($7,800)
Lennard Freeman ($4,500) – I used Freeman a bit last year because of his GPP upside when he saw minutes. He seems to be in that same category again this year as his minutes are fluctuating. At just 4.5K, I think he makes a great flier who could get you a double-double if he sees 30 minutes of action tonight.
Ryan Luther ($4,000) – Luther is another GPP gamble as we still are not sure what his roll is, but he does produce when given minutes. To win GPP’s sometimes you have to take a shot and a guy with Luther’s ability at just 4K is a shot I think you have to consider taking tonight.
Johnny Hamilton ($3,800) – Hamilton has 11 blocks and 24 rebounds over his last 4 games and while he is not much of a scoring threat in general, he has shown us a nearly 30 fantasy point ceiling so far this season. While he does offer us a pretty low floor, 3.8K is a great price to pay for somebody who could nearly 9x his price tag.
Sheldon Jeter ($3,700) – I wish I knew why Jeter’s minutes were yo-yoing so much this season as he has shown us 30 fantasy point upside so far after he finished last season as somebody who would be on our fantasy radars going forward.
Other Options – Gavin Skelly ($3,500), Isaiah Wilkins ($3,500), Anthony Lawrence Jr ($3,000)
