With more than three months of waiting time until the start of the college basketball season, there is obviously a lot to be determined between now and the Final Four matchups in 2020. As it stands, Kentucky (+125) and Michigan State (+125) are tied with the shortest odds to reach. Both definitely could make the Final Four, but if I had to pick one, I’d lean Michigan State. The Big Ten Player of the Year, Cassius Winston, will be returning for another season with the Spartans. While he didn’t have an outstanding showing in the Final Four matchup against Texas Tech, Winston experienced what it takes to bring a team that deep in the tournament.

Despite watching Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish go in the first 10 picks of the NBA Draft, Duke (+175) clings on to the third-shortest odds. The reigning champ, Virginia (+200), comes in with the fourth-shortest. As for the previously mentioned runner-up, Texas Tech (+550), the Red Raiders start off just outside of the top 10.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is seeing Memphis (+325) with the sixth-shortest odds to reach the Final Four. The Tigers haven’t made the tournament since 2014, but in his second season as head coach, Penny Hardaway is clearly on a mission to bring them back into the fold. Memphis landed the No. 1 recruit, James Wiseman, and continued to build out what is now considered the top-ranked recruiting class in the nation. Fellow AAC contenders Houston (+1900), Cincinnati (+1900) and UConn (+2400) are on the outside looking in, as it seems the young talent would prefer to play for an NBA legend like Hardaway.
